“Agressive” Salespeople working Fairfield
5:00pm–#Fairfield CT–A homeowner on Catherine Terrace called to police to complain of sales people dressed as UI workers “aggressively” asking to see UI bills. I also saw them working off Jennings Road in my travels.
Bike stolen by 11 year old
2:45pm–#Bridgeport CT–A ten year old at Tisdale Elementary School at 250 Hollister Ave. has called police that an eleven year old has stolen his bicycle.
Rollover accident in Milford
1:11pm–#Milford CT–Firefighters EMS on the way to a rollover accident on Merwin’s Lane that requires extrication. UPDATE--Jaws of life need to pop the roof to get the occupant out.

Man Hid Drugs in Handlebars
(Bridgeport, CT – April 9, 2013) – A 54-year-old man was arrested after a tip led to drugs hidden in his bicycle handlebars. While on patrol, Officers Carlos Vazquez, Jorge Larregui and Joshua Ortiz received information from a concerned citizen about a man with a lazy eye who was riding a mountain bike and selling drugs. The citizen stated that the man hid the drugs in the handlebars of his bike.
On Monday at about 10:45 p.m., the officers saw a man matching the description in the area of Pembroke and Arctic streets and stopped and spoke to him. Officers noticed that the tip of the handlebar was broken and that a gray plastic bag covered it. The man, Eugene Edmonds, of Capital Avenue, didn’t reply when Vazquez asked about the bag. Police then found eight glassine folds of heroin from the hollow tube.
Edmonds was charged with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell. Bond was set at $10,000.
Street Robbery
2:22am–#Bridgeport CT–A man and woman with a stick robbed a person outside the Getty Gas Station on Park and Wood Avenue. Ambulance sent for the victim. Police have detained a couple matching the description at Park and Olive Street.
Leg broken by car in Seymour
#12:05am–#Seymour CT–A person has right leg fracture after a slow speed impact with a car in front of Trestle Tavern on Main Street in Seymour.
