Bridegeport News: 2 Motorcycles and Car Crash

2:19pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut–A crash involving two motorcycles and a car has Park Avenue closed betwen the 2600 Park Avenue area and Lincoln Avenue.  One motorcycle attempted flee but police located it, thinking it was a second crash in the area.

 

They are in good hands with the first responders, let’s hope they are in good hands with their insurance!

Bridgeport News: Man Who Led Police on Pursuit Arrest Info

Kamran Khan  is the man that led Bridgeport Police Officers on a pursuit into Milford last month and hurt two Bridgeport Police Officers along with destroying two police cars. Info came in to the Task Force that Khan bonded out again and threatened to “kill” any Officer that was involved.  Here is a press release regarding a search warrant made that led to his arrest:

 

#Bridgeport Connecticut–On 4/12/2016 CSP / BPT Gang Task Force personnel executed a Search Warrant on the third floor apartment of a Boarding House located at 140 Gem Avenue in Bridgeport. The SW was based on Heroin buys from the suspect outside of the residence and additional information regarding the suspect possessing firearms in the residence. Task Force Officer Pereira also had an Arrest Warrant for Kamran Khan for Sales of Heroin. Khan became an immediate target due to threats against police and his violent behavior within the city of Bridgeport.

 

Surveillance was set-up around the residence where the plan was to grab the suspect when he walked out. Assisting in the arrest was Bridgeport Police K-9 Officer Martocchio. Khan has a history of resisting arrest, running and vehicle pursuits where he has rammed 3 separate Bridgeport Police cruisers last month. Khan also stated that he wanted to kill Officer s that were involved in last month s pursuit.   At approximately 1510 hours Khan walked out of the residence to meet with a heroin customer who had pulled-up in-front of the house. He was grabbed by surprise and arrested without incident. The suspect was found to have a large quantity of Heroin on his person. The Search Warrant was executed to his single room where additional Heroin, packaging, a stamper, scales and cash was located. Seized  were 4 glassine baggies of Heroin (4 grams), 6 separate plastic bags with a total weight of suspected Heroin of approx. 48 grams and $2,384.00 in cash. No firearms or ammunition was located. (Total Heroin seized was approx. 2 ounces). The suspect was arrested on the outstanding warrant as well on the On-Site Charges.

Arrest Warrant: Sale of Narcotics (3 Counts) Bond: Court Set: $150,000.00 Cash Only

On Site Charges: Operating a Drug Factory, Possession of Narcotics WITS and

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond set at $100,000.00 SB

Court: GA#2 Bridgeport 04/13/2016.

 

School Funding Slashed For Many Schools In Area, Bridgeport Is Sparred

#Hartford Connecticut– Looking to cut a $922 million state deficit Governor Malloy has revised the budget.

Here are the cuts to Education Cost Sharing grants:

Bridgeport- No cuts of the designated $182,266,724         Fairfield:  Receives $0, a cut of $3,590,008      Monroe: $6,262,588, a cut of $354,081

Shelton: $4,966,672, a cut of $1,233,138           Stratford: $20,845,788, a cut of $975,098             Trumbull: $3,093,693, a cut of $610,019

Westport: $0, a cut of $1,988,255          Wilton: $0, a cut of $1,557,195

 

There were no cuts to the Governor’s Office or the Lieutenant Governor’s budget.
