5:22pm–#Fairfield Connecticut–Firefighters were called for a water rescue first at reef near the South Benson Boat Marina at 471 Turney Road. Firefighters thoroughly checked the area and found no boats on the reef. A short time later firefighters received a call from Sea Tow, a private boat rescue company was out with the boat at “Sunken Island” at the end of Fairfield Beach Road. Police and fire boats were not able to get too close to the boat otherwise they would get caught too. Firefighter had to paddle out in a flat bottomed boat.
