Norwalk Marine Officers Rescue Man

On Saturday September 10, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. Norwalk Police Marine Unit Sergeant Peter LaPak and Marine Unit Officer Richard Delallo were patrolling in the area of Greens Ledge Lighthouse when they observed a male in water and a sailboat travelling in circles. The male has sustained a head injury and was in obvious distress. As the officers approached, they threw the male a life ring however, he was unable to grab it. The male’s head then began going under the water. Officer Delallo entered the water, securing the now exhausted male and assisting him back to the NPD Marine Unit. A passerby also entered the water and assisted Officer Delallo and Sergeant LaPak with getting the male into the boat. The male was transferred to the Norwalk Fire Boat, which transported him to Cove Marina and the waiting Norwalk Hospital Ambulance. Sergeant LaPak and Officer Delallo then secured the sailboat, which had a passenger on board. The passenger stated that the male had been struck in the head by the boom, which had launched him into the water. The passenger did not sustain any injuries.

Westport Security Advisory

#Westport , CT– The Westport Police Department is issuing a Security Advisory to Westport residents in particular to those residents who live in close proximity to Post Rd East. At some point in the overnight hours of September 14 th , unknown suspect(s) entered unlocked and occupied residences in the Northeast section of Town in close proximity to Post Rd East. All residents are urged to lock all doors, both home and vehicle, and to remove any valuable items from view that are left in your vehicle.

#Westport , CT- El departamento de policía de Westport es mando un aviso de seguridad a los residentes de Westport, en particular, a aquellos residentes que viven en las proximidades de Post Rd Este. En algún momento en la noche el 14 de Septiembre, sospechosos desconocido entro a residencias sin llave en la sección noreste de la cuidad muy cerca de Post Rd Este. 5:39pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– Another crash at State and Lafayette Boulevard.  The intersection has been plagued with numerous accidents including a fatality a few years back.  Help in improving the intersection is on the way and I’ll have a report on that tomorrow.

Bridgeport News: Burglars Make Entry Through Ceiling

Bridgeport News: Man High On PCP Shooting A Gun

4:40pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut- A man allegedly high on PCP at Boston/Beecher/East Main Street firing a gun into the air has been apprehended without incident and the firearm recovered by police.  And you thought it was obnoxious when they were naked!

Fairfield News: Catamaran Water Rescue

5:44pm–#Fairfield Connecticut– Firefighters and marine units were called for a water rescue of a catamaran that had its mast break off.  A sailboat came to its rescue and began towing it back in as marine rescue units arrived.  The Fairfield marine unit assisted with the tow and lecture on the importance of personal flotation device use.
