On 10/24/2016 at approximately 10:00pm, Officer David Scinto was on routine patrol on Post Road East in the area of Maple Avenue. Officer Scinto observed a white Nissan sedan traveling eastbound on the Post Road. The vehicle did not have a front license plate and the rear license plate light was not functioning. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Donald Flamer. Officer Scinto deployed Police Service Dog “Atlas” to the exterior of the vehicle. Atlas is a certified narcotics detection K9 on both state and national levels. Atlas indicated to Officer Scinto the presence of a narcotic odor, so he was deployed to the interior of the vehicle. Atlas continued to indicate on several areas of the interior and trunk. While Atlas was indicating the presence on narcotics in the trunk area, Officer Scinto located a black 9 millimeter handgun in a coat pocket. Flamer is not allowed to possess firearms due to his criminal history. The Westport Police Detective Bureau is investigating the firearm to determine if it is stolen and / or used in a crime. Flamer’s Parole Officer was contacted, and Flamer was remanded to be turned over to parole custody.

12:24pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– Police break up a drug buy then a short police pursuit in the Gilmore Street area. The driver abandons the car on Sherman at Pembroke and lead police on a foot pursuit when they had to deploy the tazer to get him to stop. One in custody.

8:50pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– The Gulf Gas Station at 1267 Fairfield Avenue was robbed at gunpoint by a male dressed in all black and a black mask. He ran towards the back of the gas station into a unknown car.
