Police Pursuit

6:50pm–#cttraffic– Police from Fairfield, Bridgeport and State Police were in pursuit of a red Volvo SUV on I-95 northbound wanted in a carjacking.  The driver is carrying a firearm according to radio reports.  It was thought the car got off exit 28 but it may have stayed in traffic which is heavy.

Bridgeport News: Employee Injured

3:01pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– An employee of the Innovative Display & Design at 1452 Barnum Avenue was injured when a pallet fell off a tow truck striking the employee on the face. He had lacerations but no life threatening injuries.   He was transported to the hospital.  Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was called to the scene to investigate.

Shelton News: Male Arrested for Assault and Robbery with Machete

#Shelton Connecticut–On 10-19- 16, 26 year old Corey Welch of Ansonia was arrested by a warrant and charged with Robbery 1 st Degree, Assault 1 st Degree, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, and Larceny 5 th Degree. Welch, who was already in custody at Derby Court, was being held on a $150,000 bond for this incident and was arraigned at Derby Court.

The arrest stems from a report of a robbery that occurred in the area of the Riverwalk on 10-3- 16. At approximately 8:00PM, the two victims ages 16 and 19 were approached by an unknown male and asked if they hung around with a certain person. The male then pushed the 19 year old victim to the ground and pulled out a machete and put it to his throat. The suspect continued to yell and then choked and assaulted the victim. The suspect then took the other victim’s cell phone and other items and threw them into the river. The suspect eventually let go and both victims were able to leave. Detectives conducted an investigation and were able to identify Welch as the suspect.

#Fairfield, CT– Are your photos in a cluttered mess? If the answer is yes, you may want to attend a program at the Fairfield Public Library– Learning the Basics of Photo Organizing. The program will be held in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road on Saturday, October 29 at 2 pm.

Learn tips and tricks to turn print and digital photos (whether vintage prints or on the cloud) into an organized system that makes finding and sharing photos easy. Attendees will walk away with the know-how and inspiration to tackle and  streamline their image collections.  Isabell Dervaux has 30 years of experience as an illustrator and educator. She is passionate about photo organization and is a member of APPO and NAPO-NY.
