12:09pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– A business in the 500 block of Knollton Street reporting their business was broken into and and an air compressor taken over the weekend.

On Saturday December 3, 2016, the Norwalk Department of Police Service held a DUI Checkpoint along the West Avenue corridor. Six Norwalk Police Officers and two Wilton Police Officers worked the checkpoint. The checkpoint stats are as follows:
3 DUI arrests 4 seatbelt violations 1 seatbelt violation for not having a 2-year-old child in a car seat 1 felony arrest for failure to appear in court with an original charge of DUI in Norwalk
1 arrest for a suspended license 3 arrest for narcotics or marijuana 17 infractions for other motor vehicle violations
Two additional roving DUI Enforcement Officers made an additional DUI arrest, 2 speeding infractions, an additional drug arrest and 10 additional infractions.
The DUI Enforcement Checkpoint was 75% funded by the Connecticut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.

This year, the ceremony, held simultaneously across the country at more than 1,000 locations, will be on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016. The goal: to place a live, balsam fir wreath at the headstone of every veteran buried there and say each person’s name, so their memory lives on. The Stratford Eagles Squadron is hosting a fundraisers to sponsor the 2, 501 wreaths needed to honor every veteran at Mountain Grove. Each wreath sponsorship costs $15, with $5 going to the local fundraising group as part of a special fundraising program developed by WAA.
