#Bridgeport – The Bridgeport Police Department today announced an arrest was made in the August 27, 2016 murder of Shane Slinsky. An arrest warrant was served on Jeremy Middleton (DOB: 4/17/98 of Stamford, CT), charging him with his role in the August 27, 2016 murder of Shane Slinsky. The evidence revealed that the victim, Shane Slinsky was brought to Bridgeport from Stamford by three men that he believed were his friends. Their true intention was to rob him. When they stopped in front of 21 Wood Terrace, Slinsky was shot and killed. Members of the Bridgeport Detective Bureau worked closely with members of the Stamford Police Department to resolve this case. Middleton is charged with Felony Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the First Degree, and Larceny in the Third Degree. He is being held on a $500,000 bond and additional arrests are expected in this case.
#HARTFORD, CT– Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to table consideration of any new alignment of tracks on the Northeast Corridor (NEC) through Connecticut and instead focus its investments – which he says are long overdue – on maintaining the corridor in a “state of good repair.”
In a letter delivered to the FRA, Governor Malloy says that that the State of Connecticut will support the agency’s impending Record of Decision – the next step in the program that will spell out investment priorities for the rail corridor – on the premise that it will:
The Governor is also urging the FRA to expedite approval of the many projects already in progress so there is no doubt that these near-term investments can proceed without delay. Further, he is recommending that the Northeast Corridor Commission lead the development of a service development plan partnering with all states in the corridor, as well as AMTRAK, the FRA and the Federal Transit Administration.

3:24pm–#Bridgeport Connectictuy– There is police activity at Railroad and Norman Street. Police have two people in custody after a brief foot pursuit. They were wanted for bailing out of a stolen car. K-9 caught the second suspect near Park Avenue and took a bite out of crime.

#Bridgeport, CT – In anticipation of the pending winter storm expected to impact Bridgeport beginning early tomorrow morning, sanitation and recycling pickup has been postponed for Friday, March 10, 2017 to Saturday, March 11, 2017. The Transfer Station located on 475 Asylum Street will also be closed tomorrow, and will reopen on Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Bridgeport Emergency Operation Center (EOC) continues to monitor the approaching storm that is anticipated to bring with it snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches. Based on the forecast, snow and mix could impact our area as early as 10pm Thursday and last up until 5pm Friday. Peak Storm Timing: 1am until 9am Friday.
