Westport News: Brush Fire

2:30pm–#Westport Connecticut– Westport Firefighters were dispatched at 2:30 PM to the Merritt Parkway Southbound between exits 41-40 to assist Norwalk Firefighters at a brush fire. Engine 2, Engine 6 and Car 3 responded.

Westport Firefighters arrived on scene and found an approximate 300’x 100’ area burning in the area of the West Rocks overpass with Norwalk Firefighters already on scene. Westport Firefighters worked along with Norwalk Firefighters to extinguish the fire. A total of 3 lines were stretched and operated. Crews remained on scene checking for hot spots and overhauling. The CSP was on scene and provided traffic control. The last Westport Fire unit cleared the scene at 3:42 PM.

Fairfield News: Pedestrian Hit

Update from the Fairfield Police Department – Connecticut–On March 4, 2017 at approximately 1816hrs, the Fairfield Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a pedestrian struck on Post Rd near Shorham Village Dr.
 
A preliminary investigation revealed that Kenneth Eckert (DOB 09/25/1939) of Fairfield, was crossing the Post Rd from the area of Shoreham Village Dr when he was struck by a westbound
vehicle being operated by Sonia Polanco (DOB 02/12/1945) of Bridgeport. Eckert is currently listed in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital.
 
The investigation is being conducted by the Fairfield Police Department Traffic / Crash Reconstruction team.

6:15pm–#Fairfield Connecticut– Report of a Pedestrian being hit by a car in front of The Castle On The Post at 222 Post Road (near the NAPA dealer)  The person is reported to have head injury according to radio reports.  The road is closed in that area.

Stratford News: Car Crash In Front Of The Airport

1:55pm–#Bridgeport Connecticut– Report of a head on car crash with injuries in front the entrance to the airport at Lordship Boulevard/Burma Road at Great Meadow Road.  Radio reports say they temporarily closing the road way.

Police Need Your Help!

On February 22, 2017 at approximately 1609 hours the subject depicted in the video described as a white male 5’10 in his twenties approached the main door to People’s United Bank on Old Post Road in Southport  which was locked. The male yelled to an employee who had just locked the door and the employee told him that they were closed. The male, who was wearing a face mask with gloves and carrying a dufflebag fled the scene southbound in Connecticut Registration 477 ZVD a 1996 Honda Accord 4 Door color green which he purchased in Stratford on 2/21 for $380.00 after responding to an ad on the Internet site “Letgo”. After interviewing the seller of the Honda it was determined that the male who purchased the vehicle is a black male, thin build in his twenties who has braids in his hair, this individual arrived to purchase the Honda in a newer model Nissan Maxima color black with tinted windows. During their interaction the seller of the Honda said that one of the men texted that he was coming from Wilton had a young son whose grandmother was supposedly asked to watch him during that period (2/21/17 around 6:00 pm) and wrote down a Stamford address on the bill of sale. On Friday February 24, 2017 Fairfield County Bank, 941 Danbury Road in Wilton was robbed by the same individual who again used CT. Reg. 477ZVD during the robbery , that vehicle was recovered a short distance away after arriving and fleeing the parking lot through a rear access road.  There is a reward for information that helps to identify the individuals who are responsible for the above mentioned robberies.  Anyone with information  can please contact Det.
