Westport News: Whole Foods Employee Larceny

#Westport CT: In December of 2016, Westport Officers were dispatched to Whole Foods, 399 Post Road West on a Larceny complaint. Officers learned that employee, Shamonie Gibson, was creating fake transactions and returning the funds into her own personal account. Gibson was using a supervisor’s information to do the fake returns on a day when that supervisor was not working. This went on from August to December. Gibson was interviewed by the Officers and she admitted to the fraudulent transactions. A warrant was submitted to Norwalk Court for Gibson’s arrest. On 04/11/17, Gibson turned herself in at Westport Police Headquarters. She was processed for the Larceny 2 charge and posted the $25,000.00 bond. She had a court date in Norwalk on 04/24/17.

Westport News: Contractor Arrested AGAIN

#Westport CT– On 02/16/17, the victim of this incident came to Westport Police Headquarters to file a larceny complaint. The victim needed work done to his home on North Avenue, and hired Jeffrey Chirillo of Chirillo Contracting. The victim reported that Chirillo agreed to do the work for $1895.00. The victim reported that he paid Chirillo $1365.00 on 10/02/16 as a deposit to do the work. Chirillo never did any work at his residence. The victim gave Chirillo ample time to repay the deposit but Chirillo did not. A warrant for Chirillo’s arrest was submitted to Norwalk Court. On 04/12/17, Chirillo appeared at Norwalk Court for a different case and was processed for the active warrant. He has a court date on 04/25/17.

 

Chirillo was arrested in February for taking $32,000 from a Westport homeowner and not doing any work as promised.

I-95 Paving To Resume

The Connecticut Department of Transportation will resume construction activities after the winter shutdown for the pavement preservation project on Interstate 95 in Fairfield and Bridgeport.

The project will resume work on or about May 1, 2017. Initial roadway impacts will occur on April 21, 2017, and then will resume on May 1, 2017. The project is scheduled for completion on or about August 14, 2018.

The project involves milling and paving a section of I-95 between the New England Avenue overpass and the Broad Street overpass for a total distance of 3 miles. This project will also include milling and paving of on-ramps and off-ramps and repair of existing concrete bridge decks. Also included will be minor bridge repairs to Bridge 00105A over Metro North and a city street in Bridgeport. Detour routes will be provided should ramps need to be closed for construction activities.

Tuesday, Wednesday between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Thursday and Friday between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Sunday between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (Monday)

I-95 SB
Monday through Thursday between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Friday between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (Saturday)

I-95 Ramps
Monday through Sunday between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The contractor will be allowed to temporarily close I-95 ramps and detour traffic.

Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Fairfield News: Woman Removes Arm Cast While In Custody

10:18pm–4/16/2017—#Fairfield CT–Amanda Yelen was arrested and issued Misdemeanor Summons for Criminal Trespass in the First Degree after she returned to 741 Old Stratfield Road on 4/16/17 approximately 24 hours after being explicitly warned and documented by the Fairfield Police Department to not return to the property for any reason.

 

Officers made phone contact with Amanda and was able to convince her to return to the scene of the incident to discuss what had occurred. Amanda complied and explained to me that she had returned to 741 Old Stratfield Road to retrieve some belonging’s from the shed. There was no evidence of any physical altercation between the complainant and Amanda.Amanda was given a court date of 4/28/17 to be held at GA 2, and was released on a signed Promise to Appear.

 

It should be noted that Amanda was wearing a hard cast on her left wrist at the time of the transport. During the transport Amanda managed to remove the hard cast from her left wrist, and with it the handcuff. Amanda was not finger printed out of precaution due to her wrist injury, but her identity was confirmed via previous booking photos and photo identification. AMR responded to Police Headquarters to evaluate Amanda’s wrist but she refused medical attention.
