Westport News: Narcotics Arrest

#Westport CT–On 08/29/18 at approximately 3:00pm, an officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on the Post Road. A registration check for the vehicle showed the registered owner had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Ansonia, CT. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the operator was identified as the registered owner, Karsheeem Harmon of Norwalk, CT. As Harmon was taken into custody, 10 folds of heroin were located in his pants pocket. Harmon was transported to headquarters where he was charged with 21a-279(a) Possession Controlled Substance: Narcotics. He posted $1,000 bond, but was detained until he was turned over to Ansonia officers on the outstanding warrant out of their jurisdiction.

Bridgeport News: Man Smashes Bakery Window-Uhaul Truck

12:44am–#Bridgeport CT– A man allegedly took a chair that was on Lafayette Boulevard and smashed the window at Leisha’s Bakeria and a U-Haul truck’s drivers side door and side mirror. He also asked a witness to drive him to Springfield. The man was taken to St. Vincent’s for evaluation.

Bridgeport News: Harding High School Football Field Dedication

#Bridgeport CT– Yesterday, the City of Bridgeport held a dedication of the new football field at Harding High School. The field was named after John L. Lewis. John Lewis touched the souls of many. Not just his family but many who said he helped keep them off the streets. Many alumni told me they wouldn’t know where they would be without him.

Mayor Joseph Ganim also declared the day John L. Lewis Day, presenting a proclamation to his widow Beverly Lewis. Beverly said her husband “was always quiet, to a point except when he was on the field…he didn’t smile, but I can say now after a night like tonight I bet he’s smiling now”!
