1:15am–#Stratford CT– #Bridgeport CT– Stratford Police are in pursuit of a car on Bruce Avenue/Stratford Avenue /Connecticut Avenue area. The car is now stopped with a foot pursuit on Dekalb Street.

11:33am–#Bridgeport CT– The Bridgeport Firefighters were called to help extricate a woman from her car at a crash on Park Avenue near Queen Street. The woman was taken to the hospital. The other vehicle, a jeep came to a rest at a bench at a bus stop on the Fairfield side. The roadway was closed for a period of time.

8:52pm–#Bridgeport CT– A woman in the 1200 block of Lindley Street went to go light a candle during the power outage. Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez said: “The victim thought she was lighting a candle, but it was actually a pyrotechnic device — a large powerful firecracker called a ‘quarter-stick’. The explosion blew off both of the woman’s hands, and she was rushed to St. Vincent’s Medical Center.” “Tragically, quarter-sticks do look like candles,” says Perez.
The incident happened in front of her children, her 12-year-old son made the call to 911. Police spokesperson Av Harris said a second device was discovered in the home and neighbors next to her house had been evacuated as a precaution. The bomb squad was called in to remove the device and the fire marshal is investigating.
UPDATE: Police say an 18-year-old forced his way into a home and the 72-year-old homeowner shot him in the stomach. The teen was seen running in the street attempting to stop passing cars. The teen has mental disabilities and sometimes act out violently. He is listed in stable condition. No charges were filed on the homeowner.
6:09pm–#Trumbull CT– Report of a person shot in the 400 block of Shelton Road. There have been no further updates.
