On 03-10-2019 David Williams, age 39 of Stratford was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on Success Avenue in Stratford. The shooting took place on 03- 07-2019. Williams was located with the assistance of the Prince William County Police Department in Virginia. After a standoff which lasted for several hours, Williams was taken into custody. Williams was arrested by warrant and will subsequently be held without bail pending extradition.
Williams will be formally charged with:
Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder
Assault 1 st Degree
Criminal Possession of Ammunition
Weapons in a Motor Vehicle
Reckless Endangerment
Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm
Criminal Possession of A Firearm
This investigation is ongoing at this time. Investigators are asking anyone with further information to contact the Stratford Police Detective Bureau at 203-385-4120.

#Westport CT– On 11/03/2018 at approximately 1:30pm, officers were dispatched to Whole Foods on a report of a larceny. The victim had inadvertently left a money clip containing two credit cards and $1600 cash on the small stand at the checkout register he used. When he returned to the store, the money and cards were gone and had not been turned in to store management. In reviewing the surveillance, a male and female were seen using the same checkout register after the victim. The male suspect was observed picking up the clip and placing it into his pocket. The duo were believed to be shopping couriers for Instacart. Investigators submitted a search warrant to Instacart who then identified the order “picker” as Kimberly Clark. The male suspect was later identified as her husband, Robert Benoit. An arrest warrant application was submitted for Benoit and later approved. On 03/09/2019, officers responded to Darien PD where Benoit was bring detained on the outstanding warrant. He was transported to Westport Police headquarters where he was charged with 53a-125 Larceny 4 th and 53a-128c(a) Credit Card Theft. Benoit was released after posting $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on 03/19/2019.

2019-03-10 @ 7:30pm–Witnesses say that shots were fired into the Food Market located at 842 Connecticut Avenue. Police confirmed that 3 people were shot, 1 seriously the other 2 did not have life-threatening injuries. The shot-spotter activation worked as intended, patrol officers in the area immediately called it into the dispatch center as the rushed to the scene. The pursued a car that was fleeing the scene which turned out to be the victims rushing to the hospital in private vehicle. Bridgeport Police escorted the car to Bridgeport Hospital. The hospital then went into lockdown according to radio reports because of upset family member arriving. Earlier this week a man was shot and killed on Connecticut Avenue near 5th Street in a drive-by shooting.

2019-03-10 @ 5:50pm–#Bridgeport CT– A hand grenade has been found in the 300 block of Union Avenue. The state police bomb squad has been called in to dispose of it.
A hand grenade was found on Cornell Street in August which turned out to be a fake grenade.
January 11, 2018, a grenade was found at 80 Garfield Avenue in Stratford. State Police Bomb Squad responded and disarmed the explosive and removed it from the area. The grenade appeared to be from World War I or II.

Upon arrival, the victim reported being held against a wall and choked by David Levieff following an argument over money. Levieff was arrested and brought to headquarters where he was charged with 53a-182 Disorderly Conduct and 53a- 64cc Strangulation 3 rd . He was released after posting $2,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on 03/05/2019.
