#Stratford CT–The Stratford Police Department is attempting to identify the subject in the photo.  He is believed to be connected to a recent arson incident in which a garbage can was set on fire at a local gas station.  Anyone with information can contact Det. The suspect is said to have worked/works as a mechanic at various garages in the city of Bridgeport.

2019-03-06 @ 10:24pm–Tonight’s vehicle fire is in the 1300 block of Chopsey Hill Road near Griffin Avenue.  The car is fully engulfed according to fire department radio reports.

Westport Fire Department UPDATE:  At 8:24pm the Westport Fire Department responded to an activated fire alarm at Christ and Holy Trinity Church. The department responded with 2 engines, a ladder truck and the shift commander. Companies arrived and began their investigation into the cause of the alarm when they found a heavy smoke condition in the church. Three additional engine companies (2 from Westport and 1 from Fairfield) were requested to the scene. Initial companies searched the church and found the fire in a room adjacent to the altar. Hose lines were stretched and the fire was quickly extinguished. The Fairfield Fire Department, Westport Police Department, Westport EMS, and Westport Highway Department all assisted on the scene. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Westport Fire Marshal’s Office.

2019-03-06 @ 8:41pm–#Westport CT–#cttfire– Firefighters were called to Christ & Holy Trinity Church at 75 Church Lane for an activated fire alarm.  When firefighters arrived they found a small fire in a room next to the altar.  Several cabinets were damaged and the firefighters ventilated the structure.   The firefighter’s quick work kept the fire from spreading any further.

Meriden, CT (March 6, 2019): The Connecticut State Police Recruitment and Selection Unit are holding an informational tonight for those interested in a career as a Connecticut State Trooper. In anticipation of an upcoming Trooper Trainee written exam and the need for more state troopers over the next few years, troopers invite guests to come and learn about a career with the Connecticut State Police.
