2 From Bridgeport Arrested In Motel Robbery

#Milford Police Press Release: On May 13, 2019, at approximately 9:45pm the Milford Police Department received a complaint of an Armed Robbery at the Mayflower Motel, 219 Woodmont Road, in which the clerk had been struck in the face with a firearm. Investigation showed a male offender baited the victim out from the back office by claiming the lobby microwave was broken. When the victim responded the male offender grabbed the victim by the neck and pointed a handgun in the victims face. The victim fought back and was hit in the face with the handgun and thrown across the room causing the victim to lose consciousness. The male offender then took the cash register and other items from the office and fled across the street to a vehicle in wait, operated by another person. Through fast-acting and vigilant investigation, the suspects Elben Quinones (W/M, 51) LKA 381 McKinley Street, Bridgeport and Melanie Lugo (W/F, 34) LKA 392 Prospect Street, Bridgeport were located at a Bridgeport motel on May 14, 2019, and taken into custody. Quinones claimed to only have a BB gun inside of the motel room, which was not located during a search of the room.

Trumbull Has A Subway Robbery

#Trumbull Police Press Release:
An armed robbery occurred at the Trumbull Subway sandwich shop, located on Quality Street, on the night of Tuesday, May 14. A lone gunman entered the Subway and demanded money from the employees. The employees complied with the gunman’s demands before fleeing the shop. The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. At approximately 9:23 p.m., the Trumbull Police were called to the Subway sandwich shop where they investigated this robbery.

Police learned that the suspect is a light skinned Black male, approximately 5’6” tall, dressed in dark clothing, who displayed a handgun. The suspect then fled the store in a southerly direction. No injuries were reported regarding this incident. The Trumbull Police Department is actively investigating this incident and requesting assistance from the public who may have any information regarding this incident. Fairfield Police Nab Subway Robber

#Fairfield Police Press Release–On 5/2/19, a male entered the Subway Sandwich Shop, located at 709 Post Road in Fairfield. The male was described as a black male, 6’0, wearing dark clothes, a hat, and dark sunglasses. The male asked the cashier to make change for a dollar bill, and when the cashier opened the drawer, the male brandished a firearm and subsequently took approximately $390.00 from the register. At that time, the male fled the area. It was determined that the same male had been in the Subway Shop located at 1996 Post Road a short time earlier on that same day. At that time, this male took money from the tip jar after asking the cashier to make change for a dollar bill. The cashier never opened the jar. Approximately $20.00 was taken from the tip jar.

Detectives were able to develop a suspect in this investigation using surveillance footage. On 5/14/2019, the suspect’s vehicle was located at 17 River Lane in Westport. It was determined that the suspect, Reed, was inside the residence. Contact was made with Reed, who came out of the house and surrendered without incident.

Walter Reed DOB 7/19/1970, who lists his address as 17 River Lane in Westport, was arrested for Robbery 1 st degree and 2 counts of Larceny 6 th degree. He was held on $100,000 bond and given a court date of 5/28/2019.

Stratford News: Dog Shot-Killed After Attacking Child and Police Officer

#Stratford CT–On 05-14-2019 at approximately 2:45pm a Stratford Police Officer saw a dog attacking a child on Everett Street. The Officer stopped and attempted to render assistance. The dog would not release the child and the Officer used his TASER on the animal in an attempt to stop the attack. The dog released the child who then ran to safety. The dog turned its attack on the Officer who used the TASER a second time to no effect. The Officer retreated and was ultimately forced to shoot the dog to stop the attack. The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. The dog died from injuries at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation and there is no further information at this time.

Beacon Falls News: Attempted Bank Robbery

POLICE UPDATE: Beacon Falls, CT (May 14, 2019): Beacon Falls, CT (May 14, 2019): On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Troopers from Troop I-Bethany and Officers from the Beacon Falls Police Department were dispatched to the report of a bank robbery which occurred at the Liberty Bank located at 127 South Main Street in the town of Beacon Falls. The suspect, as seen in the attached photograph is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male wearing a dark-colored North Face brand jacket, a dark-colored knit-style cap and eyeglasses. This suspect is reported to have entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. The teller turned over an unknown amount of money before the suspect fled the area in an unknown direction.

Troopers and local officers have secured the bank and are checking the surrounding area. A K9 track is also being conducted. Detectives from Central District Major Crime Squad (CDMCS) are responding to the scene and will be assisting in this investigation. As always, anyone with information is urged to contact Troop I-Bethany at 203-393-4200 in reference to case number 1900230943. The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association will provide a cash reward to anyone that leads to the identity and arrest of this suspect. Contact 9-1-1if immediate attention is necessary.
