Merritt Parkway Shutdown In Norwalk
2022-07-09 @2:17pm–#Norwalk CT– #cttraffic– The Merritt Parkway is closed near exit 40 for what state police said is a ten car accident. They are sending EMS and tow truck down the wrong way on the northbound side.

Bridgeport News: 2 Shot At Greene Homes
On July 8, 2022 at approximately 11:55 pm, the Emergency Operations Center received a ShotSpotter activation (4 rounds) in the area of Building 4 within the Charles F. Greene Homes Housing Complex. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the exact location of the gunfire.
On July 9, 2022 at approximately 12:10 am, St. Vincent’s Hospital staff reported a 22-year-old Bridgeport man walked into their Emergency Room (ER) suffering from gunshot wounds to both legs. Minutes later, a 23-year-old Bridgeport man walked into St. Vincent’s Hospital ER suffering from a single gunshot wound to the foot. Both victims are listed in stable condition (non-life-threatening injuries).
On July 9, 2022 at approximately 12:15 am, Patrol Officers discovered a crime scene located at an apartment within the Greene Homes Housing Complex.
The Bridgeport Police Department Detective Bureau has responded and taken charge of the investigation. General Investigation (GI) Detectives conducted interviews and collected evidence at the crime scene.

Bridgeport News: Police Update on Bus Driver Attack
2022-07-08@4:58pm–#Bridgeport CT–A caller reported a bus driver being attacked on the 1800th block of Main Street. The Responding officers were told by the caller that a male assaulted a city bus driver and took their cell phone. The medics were dispatched to evaluate the bus driver’s injuries.
American Medical Response (AMR) personnel arrived on scene and evaluated the victim who had numerous superficial lacerations and redness to her hands, face, and legs. It was first reported that the victim was hospitalize by the victim declined to be transported to the hospital for further evaluation. Shortly after, blocks away, the Bridgeport Police spot someone who fits the description of the suspect and quickly detained him. The responsible suspect(Adrian Carter) was confirmed and then arrest without incident.

Stratford News: Person(s) Shot

Stratford Police said: Shortly after 1 am on 07/09/2022 the Stratford Police responded to the Platinum Gentleman’s Club located on the Barnum Avenue Cutoff for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival one male victim was identified. The victim suffered a non-life- threatening gunshot wound to the thigh. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The assault occurred in the parking lot of the
business.
The investigation is active and ongoing at this time and more information will be release at a later date.
2022-07-09@1:04am–#Stratford CT– Police and EMS were called to the 800 block of Barnum Avenue Extension for a report of a person shot. St. Vincent’s Hospital reported two came to their emergency department with non-life-threatening injuries. It has NOT been confirmed if these two calls are connected at this time.

Bridgeport News: Bus Driver Beaten/Hospitalized
2022-07-08 @ 5PMish– A GBT bus driver was pulled from the bus and beaten at the 1300 block of Main Street (between Grand and Frank Street). The driver has been hospitalized. News12’s Frank Recchia will have a report tomorrow.

2022-07-08@3:49pm–#Bridgeport CT– Firefighters were called to a structure fire in the 1200 block of East Main Street. Firefighters found a fire in the wall and quickly extinguished the fire. Witnesses said there was welding taking place earlier.
