On the evening of December 10, Bridgeport Officers Salce and Rrapi were patrolling the Hollow area when they stopped a speeding vehicle on Harral Avenue for lacking a front license plate. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Felix Manuel Delvalle of Bridgeport, was found to be uninsured and acting suspiciously. During a safety pat-down, officers recovered a loaded Ruger handgun with six rounds of ammunition, later confirmed as stolen in 2018.
Delvalle was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, failure to display license plates, and operating without insurance. His bond was set at $75,000.
A crash between a pick-up truck and a tractor-trailer on I-95 northbound near exit 40. About 20 gallons of diesel fuel from the tractor-trailer went down a storm drain. They are talking about closing the highway, currently only the left median is getting by. Detour if you can.

On December 4, 2024, Special Services Division Officers arrested Derik McCoy, 35, of Norwalk, after observing him driving his 2006 Black BMW. McCoy, who had four outstanding narcotics warrants, fled on foot during a traffic stop but was apprehended a short distance away. During his arrest, officers discovered approximately 24.53 grams of crack cocaine, two scales, and $711 in cash. The four outstanding warrants, each with a $60,000 bond, stemmed from a long-term narcotics investigation. McCoy now faces additional charges, including possession and sale of narcotics, and his bond totals $390,000.
On December 10th, at approximately 21:08 hours, the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received reports of an individual with possible mental health issues who had jumped from the Grand Republic.

The emergency teams quickly arrived at Bridgeport Harbor, where AMR transported a 50-year-old male to a nearby hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The Bridgeport Police Department has since notified the next of kin.

At approximately 9:08 PM, Bridgeport’s Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received multiple calls reporting an individual with possible mental health issues jumping from the Grand Republic ferry boat into the waters of Bridgeport Harbor.
Emergency response teams swiftly mobilized, including the Bridgeport Police Department Marine Unit, Bridgeport Fire Department Marine Unit, the United States Coast Guard (USCG), American Medical Response (AMR), and surrounding mutual aid agencies. The ongoing search is a collaborative effort between the USCG and the Bridgeport Police Department.
Authorities have classified this as an active investigation. No further details have been released at this time.

The Bridgeport ECC received a call reporting an explosion at the Barnum Museum and subsequent calls reporting hearing the same. The preliminary report is that there was an issue with the boiler at the site. The Bridgeport Fire Department and contracted workers are on-scene, and there are no reported injuries.
On December 8, 2024 at about 7:25 P.M. the Ansonia Police Department received a shots fired complaint on Pork Hollow Road. The first officers on scene found a 37-year-old Ansonia resident that was shot in the lower body along with evidence of multiple shots fired. The male was transported to a local hospital for the non-life-threatening injury. During the investigation a vehicle of interest has been identified, it is a newer model Ford Mustang convertible, color blue or grey with white license plates. This appears to be an isolated incident and there is currently no danger to the public.

Report of a car that struck the overpass wall at the intersection of Crescent Avenue and East Main Street in Bridgeport. Firefighters took the doors off of the car to extricate everyone from the vehicle. It is unknown if there are any injuries at this time.
