On May 5, 2019, at 12:38am an officer was stopped for a red light in the right lane on Main Street at the intersection of Wall Street. The officer observed a motorist pull around his vehicle into to the left turn only lane of Main Street and drive through the redlight while making a right turn. The officer stopped the motorist on Wall Street and identified the operator as TERRANCE PARKER. The vehicle’s registration was suspended and Parker’s license was suspended. Parker also smelled of alcohol and became belligerent when the officer told Parker his vehicle was being towed. The officer told Parker to hand over his car keys however Parker started the car, placed it in drive and accelerated. The vehicle struck the officer, who was at the driver’s side, knocking the officer backwards. Parker fled the scene at a high rate of speed and was initially able to elude capture. The officer was transported by ambulance to the Norwalk Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Parker’s vehicle information was broadcast to area police departments and a short time later a Westport Police Officer spotted the vehicle traveling eastbound on I-95. Parker refused to stop for the Westport Officers and engaged them in a pursuit. Parker was eventually apprehended on Boston Avenue in Bridgeport with the assistance of the Westport Police, Connecticut State Police and Bridgeport Police.

9:40pm–#Monroe CT– Firefighters activated the hazmat crews for an industrial fire at 1480 Monroe Turnpike which is Anodic Inc. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and Eversource has been called to the scene. The town has been receiving mutual aid from surrounding towns for fire and EMS assistance and town coverage.

#Trumbull CT–The body of a Trumbull resident was discovered in a wooded area of the Pequonnock River Trail on Wednesday afternoon suffering from apparent self-inflicted injuries. The resident, a fifty-six-year-old male resident of the Old Town Rd. area of Trumbull was discovered laying on the ground, off of the path, with apparent fatal injuries. The Trumbull Police were sent to the Park St. entrance of the Pequonnock River Trail around 2:30 PM for the report of the male’s discovery. Trumbull EMS also arrived and assisted with rendering medical aid to the male before transporting him to Bridgeport Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Current police investigation shows this to be an isolated incident with no threat to the safety of the public. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Earlier today, a man jumped from the Sikorsky Bridge. Unconfirmed reports say he died. On Wednesday a Fairfield man hung himself on Burroughs Road. he also died.

Joe Gresko (D-121st), held a press conference at Fairfield’s Penfield Pavilion overlooking the Long Island Sound on Monday, March 25, 2019 to announce the release of the completed draft of the Long Island Sound “Blue Plan” (www.ct.gov/deep/lisblueplan) and the commencement of a 90-day public comment period.
The Blue Plan, legislation created through Public Act 15-66, enables a process by which Connecticut can develop a marine spatial bathymetry plan to protect Long Island Sound’s natural resources and traditional human uses while allowing for compatible future use and development. The Blue Plan aims to achieve this goal by creating a series of resources and information that can help planners and applicants, make better coordinated and compatible decisions.

2019-03-17 @ 11:00pm– A car traveling over 100mph over the Moses Wheeler Bridge southbound turned off his lights to avoid the state police who were pursuing him. The car got off exit 32 and crashed into a tree in front of the Cumberland Farms 1290 W Broad Street. The driver of the pursued vehicle was injured and transported to the hospital by Stratford EMS.
