#Norwalk CT– On 10/14/17, the pictured suspect picked up a fraudulent wire transfer at Stop n Shop located on Connecticut Ave in Norwalk. The victim, who resides out of state, received numerous phone calls from a male pretending to be a law enforcement officer who demanded the victim wire money because his grandson was in jail. The complainant wired $2450 to Stop n Shop in Norwalk. Anyone that can identify the suspect or has any information is asked to contact the Detective Bureau at 203-854-3011. 10:28pm–#Norwalk CT– Police had a short pursuit and manhunt on Garfield Street. The suspect was quickly taken into custody. I don’t know at this time what they were wanted for.
1:34pm–#Norwalk CT– Police are reporting that there are only about fifty people camping out on the sidewalk in front of Best Buy for the Black Friday Specials tomorrow.

On November 23, 2017 at 1:07 am, Patrol Division Officers responded to 7 Midwood Road for a report of an assault. Arriving officers found a male victim in the residence suffering from serious stab wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid, to include the application of a tourniquet. Norwalk Hospital EMS transported the victim to Norwalk Hospital. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to police arriving however based on the preliminary investigation it appears this is an isolated incident. The NPD Crime Scene Unit is processing the scene and Norwalk Detectives are investigating.

State Police UPDATE: I’m sad to report that State Police said at 7am this morning they located the man’s body in the Norwalk River near the Yankee Doodle Bridge. The victim was pronounced deceased by Norwalk EMS and was positively identified as Evol M. Genias of Bridgeport. The medical examiner will be conducting a post-morterm examination to determine the cause and manner of death. They said there does not appear to be any criminal aspect to this incident and remains under investigation.
11:15pm–#Norwalk CT– There is heavy police activity on I-95 between exits 15/16and around water banks for a person who possibly jumped from the Yankee Doodle Bridge.

#Norwalk News: On October 5, 2017 at 4:39 PM Strategic Narcotics Enforcement Team (SNET) Officers were dispatched to the Courtyard Marriott located at 474 Main Avenue for a complaint. Hotel management reported a marijuana odor emanating from one of the rooms. Management wanted the occupants escorted from the premise. The officers contacted the occupants, Kevin Tobar-Castillo and JohanCifuentes, in the hallway outside of their room. Due to the heavy odor of marijuana, the officers requested consent to search the room. The men consented to a search of the room during which officers found loose marijuana strewn about the room, drug-packaging material and a large amount of cash. Both men were placed under arrest at this time. While handcuffing Cifuentes, officers found him to be on possession of Cadillac keys. Officers then located a Cadillac in the hotel parking lot, which was unlocked and running. Officers observed a large zip lock bag of marijuana resting on the center console. While searching the vehicle officers found two
suitcases and a gym back that contained large amounts of packaged marijuana and drug packaging material. Officers seized 4.129 kilograms of marijuana, $18,317 and drug packaging material.

#Norwalk CT–On September 8, 2017 at 11:03 pm, Norwalk Police responded to the Bow Tie Cinemas at 542 Westport Avenue for a male who had negligently shot himself in the leg. Arriving officers located Theo Thomopoulos inside the lobby suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg. Officers seized a 9mm handgun from Thomopoulos, who wastransported to the Norwalk Hospital for treatment. No one else was injured during the incident. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for Thomopoulos, who turned himself in at police headquarters on October 5, 2017.

9:24am–#Norwalk CT– A gas station on West Avenue was just robbed by two young Hispanic males. 1 was wearing a mask, the other had a knife. The fled in a silver Honda with no plates.
