2019-10-28@1:30pm–#Stratford CT– One person was cuffed and detained by state police on I-95 near exit 31. State police radio said he was bouncing off the guard rails, Stratford fire was dispatched for an accident with injuries.
#Stratford CT– On 9/23/2017, The Stratford Police Department responded to the report of the Fatal Overdose of 27 year old Stratford woman. The Stratford Police Department, along with DEA Bridgeport conducted an investigation into the victim’s death. It was learned that the victim had used Heroin and Fentanyl just prior to her death. The victim’s death was ruled an Overdose by the State Medical Examiner, showing an intoxication of Heroin, Fentanyl, and other substances.
Through this investigation, Talvin Hinton age 43 of Bridgeport was identified as the individual who sold the victim the narcotics, just before her death. At the victim’s home, Detectives recovered additional Heroin folds and drug paraphernalia. Between the months of January and March of 2018, DEA Bridgeport conducted multiple controlled purchases of Heroin from Hinton. Hinton was subsequently arrested on Federal Drug Trafficking charges. Hinton plead Guilty in Federal Court and was sentenced to 5 years in Federal Prison and 4 years of Supervised Release for the Distribution of Heroin. Hinton has a lengthy previous narcotics sales history.
POLICE UPDATE: On 10-16-2019 at approximately 1156 am the Stratford Police Department responded to Big Y supermarket on Hawley Lane to investigate a car that struck the building. Upon
arrival Officers found that a car drove through the front bay door and struck a customer. The injured customer was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The incident is still under investigation.
2019-10-16@11:55am #Stratford CT– A car entered the Big Y at Hawley Lane this afternoon. Radio reports said there was no structural damage as the car entered an open door. The driver and passenger was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Special thanks to Jeff Penkoff for the photo!
2019-10-15 #Stratford CT– #Fairfield CT– In a report I was first to report here is the press release and mugshot from Stratford Police:
On 10-15-2019 Stratford Police Officers investigated a commercial burglary at the CITGO Gas Station located at 805 Main Street. The burglary occurred at approximately 0115 am. Based on surveillance video a suspect and vehicle description was obtained. The suspect caused approximately $2000 dollars in damage to the business and stole approximately $300 dollars worth of merchandise. At approximately 0915 am Stratford Detectives observed the suspect vehicle, a red Pontiac Sunfire and attempted to stop the car. The operator refused to stop and Officers broke off the pursuit. A short time later with the assistance of Fairfield Police the suspect vehicle was located in Fairfield. The Fairfield Police K9 Unit assisted with a track and the suspect, Walsh was found hiding from Officers under some bushes. He was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, Matthew Russell Walsh age 47 of Wethersfield was charged with the following; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Reckless, Endangerment Interfering With an Office,r Larceny in the Sixth Degree, Burglary in the Third Degree, Engaging Police in Pursuit, and Reckless Driving, Walsh is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on 10-25-2019 and he was held on a $100,000 dollar bond.
2019-10-15@10AMish–#Fairfield CT– #Stratford CT–Stratford Police pursued a vehicle that was a suspect in a burglary. Just before it entered the Fairfield Town Line on North Avenue, they terminated the pursuit. Fairfield Officers located the suspect’s vehicle near Algonquin Rd. And began a track with our K9. The suspect is described as a 50-60 year old white male wearing a grey hoodie and green and white sneakers. He was seen on a home surveillance video fleeing the vehicle east on Algonquin toward Brooklawn Ave. K-9 Jagger with his handler Kevin Wells apprehended the suspect who was then turned over to Stratford Police.
On 9-8-2019, Sunday, the pictured male entered the Stratford Walmart, 150 Barnum Ave. at 8:26 p.m. , He shoplifted approximately $1000.00 in clothing, toys and power tools. He left the scene on a vehicle bearing a Vermont license plate.
He is approximately 35-40 years old, slender, 5′-9″, beard, and long dread locks. He is wearing a blue sweat jacket with white stripes down the arms. Fatigue pants, dark sneakers with white soles.

Fire Department UPDATE: Shortly after midnight on Monday September 30 th , a fire was reported by the homeowner of 44 Clifflawn Road stating that there was a fire in the attic of the house. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the roof and an active fire in the attic space. The fire was extinguished within a few minutes and contained to the mid section of the attic, in the vicinity of the homes attic exhaust fan. A total of 23 Firefighters under the command of Assistant Chief Camperlengo were able to control the fire and limit the damage to the attic space. No injuries had been reported and the family will be relocated until repairs can be made to the damaged area. During the time of incident Bridgeport and Milford Fire Department assisted with station coverage. The Stratford Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
2019-09-30@12:50am–#Stratford CT–Firefighters are on scene of a house fire at Clifflawn Road. The fire was confined to the second floor and attic area. Only one hose was need to battle the fire. Everyone made it out safely and there were no reported injuries.

The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford announces that the Hudson Shakespeare Company of New Jersey will return to Stratford on Saturday, October 12 at 2 pm for a special Halloween season offering of “Doctor Faustus”. The company, which has brought its summer series of outdoor Shakespeare for the last several seasons to Stratford, will perform “Doctor Faustus” in the Library’s Lovell Room. The fully-staged and costumed performance is free and open to the public.
Doctor Faustus, the German intellect, has risen to the height of his profession but still wants more via the world of magic. He decides on magic and calls upon Mephistopheles, a servant of the devil, for his help. Faustus makes an offer the devil can’t refuse – he will sign away his soul in exchange for 24 years of life and Mephistopheles at his beck and call in order to discover the secrets of life. Faustus then embarks on a journey through time and space in order to discover all of life’s meaning. Who will he meet? Where will he travel to? What will he learn? And ultimately – what happens when his time is up?

12:03am–#Stratford CT– A person has been shot outside the sports bar at 1212 Stratford Avenue. Initial radio reports say the person was shot in the chest. Police are looking for a black male who fled in a burgundy vehicle. There at least four sell casings in the middle of the road.
