#Stratford CT–On Wednesday night, Stratford Police said they were called to Nichols and North Avenues for a car accident. Police said Barrett had been driving his 12-year-old daughter, who was in a Halloween costume, around the neighborhood so that she could go trick or treating when he struck a car driven by a woman who was doing the same thing with her children. Police said Barrett smelled strongly of alcohol and admitted he had six drinks. They said he was arrested after failing a field sobriety test. His daughter was turned over to a relative. Barrett subsequently was found to have a blood/alcohol content of .191 or more than twice the legal limit, police said. Barrett was charged with; Operating under the influence Failure to drive right Barrett was given a court date of 11/13/2018

4:30PMish– #Stratford CT–#Bridgeport CT– A jet was forced to belly land after its landing gears would not come down. The jet circled the area to burn off fuel. First responders from both Bridgeport and Stratford converged at the airport located at 1000 Great Meadow Road. The airport is run by the city of Bridgeport on land in Stratford. The jet made a perfect landing on the runway with sparks and flame trailing behind it but there was no fire once the aircraft came to a stop.
STRATFORD, CT (October 1, 2018) — The Stratford Health Department is sponsoring a public flu clinic on Saturday, October 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Birdseye Municipal Complex Gymnasium, located at 468 Birdseye Street in Stratford, CT. This year’s flu clinic will be Star Wars themed and is open to children, adults, and seniors
“Due to the severe flu season we encountered last year we strongly encourage individuals of all ages to get their flu shot this season,” states Bernice Bova, Public Health Nurse for the Stratford Health Department, “our themed clinics allow families to receive their flu shot in a fun and hassle-free way.”
There are no appointments necessary for the flu clinic. All vaccines will be given on a first come, first served basis. The Stratford Health Department offers the standard flu vaccine for ages 6 months and above, as well as the high dose vaccine for individuals over 65 years of age. Parents or guardians must accompany their children.
Insurances accepted for flu vaccines include Medicare Part B, Anthem BC/BS, Connecticare, Husky, Aetna, and Cigna. We do NOT accept United Healthcare and Oxford Insurances. All others will be charged a $40.00 fee for the standard flu vaccine and $70.00 for the high dose flu vaccine, payable by cash or check.

2:02pm–#Bridgeport CT– A silver Audi attempted to run down police officers and engaged them in pursuit on Stratford Avenue onto I-95. The Audi got off exit 33 on Ferry Boulevard and then crashed at East Broadway at Willow Avenue near the Spruce Goose Diner. One suspect was quickly apprehended. The second suspect was apprehended a short time later.

#Stratford CT–On 09-13-2018 the Stratford Police Department arrested Yadriel Martinez age 25 and Drimal Martinez age 28. Both are from Bridgeport. The two who are brothers were arrested by warrant for their connection with a string of burglaries in Stratford. The pair is also suspects in burglaries that took place throughout Fairfield and New Haven counties. The investigation was initiated with a string of burglaries that occurred earlier this year in town.
For their part in Stratford the pair was charged with 13 counts of Burglary 3rd , 1 count of Criminal Attempt at Burglary 3rd , 3 counts of Burglary 1 st and 3 counts of Larceny 4th . Each was held on a $250,000 dollar bond. The investigation is ongoing and Stratford Detectives are working with other local investigators concerning the Martinez brothers.
