Bridgeport News: Arrest Made In Bretton Street Homicide

On March 18, 2017, Gregory Francilme was shot and killed at the rear of 201 Bretton Street. A second male victim was also shot in this incident and survived. Homicide detectives were able to quickly develop leads in this case, and with the assistance of the Waterbury Police Department, the perpetrator was taken into custody on the same night the incident occurred. Detectives interviewed Tikhari Morton (11/24/97) and he admitted to shooting both males. Tikhari was held in Waterbury for crimes he committed in that city, and Bridgeport Detectives submitted a warrant for the arrest of Morton. On April 7, 2017, Morton was brought to Bridgeport Superior Court where he was arraigned, and charged with Murder and Criminal Attempt at Murder, Assault in the First Degree and weapons offenses. Detectives from the Bridgeport Police Department Robbery Squad also obtained a warrant for Morton’s arrest in a separate robbery incident that occurred on March 17, 2017. Morton is charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Threatening in the First Degree, Criminal use of a Firearm and Larceny in the Third Degree.

Bridgeport News: 2 Shot In Bridgeport – 1 Dies

UPDATE from Bridgeport Police: On March 18, 2017 at 1355 hours, Gregory Francilme  3/20/98) and a second male were shot while outside 201 Bretton Street. Francilme was shot in the head and died last night at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. The second male victim underwent surgery at St. Vincent’s and is expected to survive. The motive for the shooting is currently being investigated, but detectives have identified a person of interest in this shooting, and anticipate that an arrest will be made shortly.

 

#Bridgeport News: Today at 1:55pm, a shooting incident occurred in the rear of 201 Bretton Street. This is an apartment style complex, consisting of several buildings. Two male victims, 19, were shot at this location near the rear entrance. Victim # 1 sustained a gunshot wound to his head, and was transported by medics to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where he remains in critical condition. Victim # 2 sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was also transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center. He is expected to survive. The crime scene was processed by detective from the Identification Unit, and detectives are working to identify the person responsible for this shooting.
