#Bridgeport, Conn. (August 28, 2015 Press Release) –The Bridgeport Police Department announced that it is seeking public assistance in identifying a carjacking suspect.
On August 21, 2015 at around 3:00 p.m. a man flagged down a Bridgeport police officer and explained that he was the victim of a carjacking at gunpoint. The victim stated that he was out of his wife’s vehicle at Wood Ave. and Olive St. when a car pulled around his car and parked up ahead. The suspect, a man the victim knows as “Boobie,” jumped out of that car and asked about money that the victim may owe him. The victim told the suspect that he did not owe him any money. The victim stated that the suspect then started to take out a handgun from his waistband. Seeing this the victim punched the suspect and ran away around the corner. “Boobie” ran after and shot at the victim twice near the corner of Wood Ave. and Olive St. The suspect then got in the victim’s wife’s car and drove off stealing it. The stolen vehicle is a gray Pontiac 4-door sedan. “Boobie” is a black male wearing a white shirt and black shorts. The black woman wearing the colorful skirt in the video is the suspect’s sister.

First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that the Town of Fairfield is holding its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday August 29, 2015 at Veterans Park on Reef Road from 9 am to 2 pm.

Since May 1990, the towns and cities which are members of HazWaste Central have disposed of and recycled more than 1,000,000 gallons of hazardous waste.
On Saturday August 29, 2015, the Town of Fairfield will need volunteers from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Volunteers will not be handling any hazardous waste.
