Middletown School Responds to “Scream Rooms” Outrage
Students say they can hear classmates screaming.
The day after parents of Farm Hill Elementary School students in Middletown expressed outraged about the way the school is dealing with misbehaving students, the school is making some changes.
Parents who attended a board of education meeting on Tuesday night were upset about teachers and staff putting the children, including those with special needs, in what they called “scream rooms.” The school district calls them “timeout rooms.” Read full story watch video report……
Fairfield Police Chase Ends In Manhunt In Bridgeport
At 12:58 pm Tuesday afternoon, Officer Sudora initiated a traffic stop on State St.
near Butler in
Bridgeport on a White Honda which was a possible misuse of plates. As Officer Sudora
approached the vehicle, the operator fled on foot on Butler toward Fairfield Ave. Three black
males bailed out of the vehicle and fled in different directions. Officer Sudora initiated a foot
pursuit, as the suspect vehicle crashed into a parked car. Several Patrols (both Bridgeport and
Fairfield) were in the area. The suspect vehicle was confirmed stolen from Stamford, CT.
The suspect driver’s abandoned jacket was located a short distance away. The Bridgeport PD K-
9 tracked off of the jacket and led right to a suspect that Officer Ricco and Bridgeport Detective
Fiumidinisi had stopped on the corner of State and Clinton Avenue. Fairfield K-9 was also used
in a track from the vehicle.
The driver, Rafael Cooney (DOB 12/15/90) of 1166 Reservoir Avenue Bridgeport, CT was
taken into custody and charged with Larceny (stolen vehicle Stamford), Reckless Endangerment,
Criminal Trover, and Interfering. He was also charged with several MV charges. Bond was set
at $7500 total ($5000 for the Criminal and $2500 for MV Charges). The other two suspects were
not located. The case remains under investigation.

Robert Magi, 20 is suspected of stealing so many items a court hearing scheduled for last week was delayed because authorities are still trying to contact all of his alleged victims. That is some 40 people, according to statements made Jan. 4 in Superior Court in Derby. Magi, of Fairfield, faces 84 criminal charges after police said he committed a string of burglaries in Oxford and Seymour. Read full story……
‘Secret letter’ on Fairfield Metro revenue stuns selectmen
FAIRFIELD — The revelation that state officials have a letter falsely stating Fairfield boards knew about a change in the pact for the Fairfield Metro railroad station guaranteeing that commuter parking revenues would first reimburse the state’s $19.4 million debt on the project, instead of the town, was met with “stunned silence,” according to First Selectman Michael Tetreau. Second Shooting Homicide In Bridgeport for 2012
Three people were walking down Seaview Ave. when they were approached by a man with a gun who opened fire on them. Justin Thompson, age 14 was pronounced dead at the scene. Injured was Benny Turner, 21, shot in the hand and Travon Phidd, 20, shot in the leg.
