Fairfield PD looking for Suspect in Dorm Theft

The Fairfield Police are attempting to identify the suspect in the photo. He is believed to be responsible for a larceny at the Pitt Center on Sacred Heart University campus. laptop, cell phone, and sunglasses were taken from the Pit Center gym sometime between 1445 and 1530 hours on 10/17/11. The student went to the Pit Center gym and placed her belongings in a storage cubby, when she returned the back pack was missing. The items are valued at $1,200. Sacred Heart Public Safety provided video surveillance footage of the theft taking place. President’s Teleprompter Stolen

A truck filled with President Obama's podiums and audio equipment was stolen in Henrico just days before his visit to Chesterfield Virginia. When you see President Obama speak, there is a pretty typical setup including the presidential seal on a podium, the see-thru Teleprompter and a portable sound system. Thieves saw the truck carrying that equipment and couldn't resist the target. We confirmed an investigation with the U.S. Defense Department. Railroad Salvage Rubie Vine Passes at age 86

Rueben "Rubie" William Vine, 86, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, formerly of the New Haven, CT,  died on Oct. 11, 2011.  Rubie started his business career at the age of 9 with a New Haven Register paper route.  He continued his route until he enlisted in the Army during World War II.  He was wounded three times and captured at the Battle of the Bulge.   Once discharged from the Army, he sold pots, pans and other items door to door. He founded one of the first closeout stores, Railroad Salvage stores in New Haven in 1950 for which he became famous  starring in his own commercials:

2 Men Shot in Bridgeport 1 Dead

In a story you heard here  first, live, while the story was still breaking two men were shot after an argument at the Bishops Corner strip club. One man was in his driving in his car and was shot in the head, he crashed down the road at 68 North Bishop Ave. Firefighters had to extricate Shawn Parks from the car. He died on the way to the hospital. A second man, Sherman Perry was an innocent by stander and was shot in the leg. Police are still investigating. Gopher Ice Cream Fairfield Closes

Unfortunately we had to shut down the location. Smoking and Coffee Swigging Toddler

The father of a two-year-old girl has accused his ex-wife of teaching their daughter how to smoke cigarettes after shocking images of the tot emerged on the internet. Gabriel Burulea is now demanding permanent custody of his daughter after claiming that his ex posted a video on YouTube of their child smoking at home in Bughea de Sus, Arges, Romania.  It is also alleged that she taught the youngster to like coffee.    Read full article with video.....

2 Dorm Fires at Sacred Heart University

[caption id="attachment_4570" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="2 dorm fires at Sacred Heart University tonight"][/caption] Approximately at 5:45pm Friday evening a power surge caused two dorm fires at Sacred Heart University.   Firefighters were called to the J-Lot area of the Scholars Common to the smell of smoke from and electrical box.   A recall to the fire was called within fifteen minutes but when Assistant Fire Chief George Gamola took command of the scene it was determined that the surges and fires affected another dorm building and the fire apparatus was quickly called back to the scene    Firefighters remained on scene past 8pm.  It is uncertain if weather conditions played a role in the power surges.  Shortly after 8:30pm  Bridgeport Firefighters responded to false…
