On November 14, 2023, the police responded to a shoplifting incident at Boscov’s. Gail Malloy, a 58-year-old woman from Hilltop Place, New Haven, was accused of taking items from the store without paying for them. When approached by the Loss Prevention officer, Malloy spat at them. The officers arrived and detained Malloy, charging her with Larceny 6th Degree and Breach of Peace 2nd Degree. The bond is yet to be determined, and her court date is set for December 12, 2023.
On the evening of November 16, 2023, Officer Hopkins responded to multiple calls from residents on Lawrence Avenue, Field Court, and Welch's Point Road. Jorge Lopez, a 29-year-old male residing on W. Main Street, West Haven, was reported for trespassing into a residence and attempting entry into two others, where he was unfamiliar to the occupants. The police located Lopez inside a truck parked diagonally in the driveway of a residence on Welch's Point Road. Despite being uncooperative and actively resisting arrest during the investigation, officers managed to gain control, leading to Lopez's apprehension and subsequent custody. On October 30, 2023, Officer Beirne arrested Philip Micalizzi, aged 68, on Village Road for breaking the law. Micalizzi was charged with violating a protective order, behaving badly, and stopping someone from calling for help. He had to pay $2,500 to be released before going to court on November 1, 2023. The police came to a house on Village Road on November 1, 2023, after someone called 911. They said that Micalizzi had an argument with them. Micalizzi forcibly took the person's purse and stopped them from calling the police. He then pushed the person, causing them to fall and get hurt. Radio reports say there is smoke showing from two units and they cite the sprinkler system for keeping the fire in check.
#Milford CT-- On October 30, 2023, law enforcement responded to a distress call at the mall regarding a man inappropriately touching females. John Reynolds approached a victim near the food court, expressing a desire to touch their buttocks, which he did without consent. Subsequently, a second victim reported a similar incident involving Reynolds. Police apprehended Reynolds after positive identification by the victims. He was charged with Breach of Peace 2nd Degree and Sexual Assault 4th Degree. His bond was set at $30,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on October 31, 2023 for the reported offenses.
