Bridgeport News: EbLens Incident

9:24pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police received a call from EbLens on 586 Pequonnock Street for a male shoplifting and is thought to have a gun. Police were just at Park and Beechmont for officer needs assistance and they quickly arrived to arrest this suspect. Unknown if he had a gun but he did win a pair of silver bracelets and a trip to booking.

Fairfield News: Fairfield Police Deliver Toys St. Vincent’s Hospital

#Fairfield CT–Last week, the Fairfield Police Department delivered toys to St. Vincent’s Hospital.  Dianne Auger, Senior Vice President at St Vincent’s said they toys will not only be used for the holidays but throughout the year like during birthdays.  The police department also delivered toys to Bridgeport Hospital this week.

Officer Mark Letsch who lead the drive said he would like to thank the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, Rec Center, Betsy Browne, FTC, American Legion and Rocco Wealth Management for their awesome assistance.

Stratford News: Morning Fire

#Stratford CT–A late Monday morning fire damaged a home on Bates Street in Stratford. At 10am Tuesday morning, the Stratford Fire Department responded to 12 Bates Street for a fire in a second floor bedroom. Firefighters arrived to find a fire contained to the bedrooms mattress and night stand. Within 15 Minutes and under the command of Assistant Chief Reitmeyer, Fire Crews were able extinguish the fire without any injuries. The Stratford Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the cause and found improperly disposing of cigarette ashes into a plastic garbage pale was to blame for the damage. Occupants (2) will have to relocate until repairs can be made and approved by the building official.

Bridgeport News: Police Update On Fatal Crash

The Bridgeport Serious Crash Investigation Team responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and 2 vehicles that occurred today, December 19th at 11:28 am on Huntington Turnpike near the intersection of Priscilla St.

 

Michelle Crooks, 50, of Bridgeport was crossing Huntington Turnpike from the shopping center parking lot of 345 Huntington Turnpike when she was struck by a 2017 BMW 430 xi traveling north on Huntington Turnpike operated by a 41-year-old female from Trumbull.  After striking Crooks the BMW veered to the right striking a tree and a 2004 Honda CRV with 3 occupants, all of Bridgeport that was exiting the gas station at 406 Huntington Turnpike.

 

Crooks was transported to Bridgeport Hospital and was pronounced dead at 12:01 pm.  The operator of the BMW was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where she is listed in critical condition suffering from severe head and facial injuries.  The occupants of the Honda CRV were transported to St Vincent’s Hospital and are listed in critical condition.

 

Members of the Southern Fairfield County Traffic Unit assisted Bridgeport at the accident scene.  Bridgeport Police Officer Michael Falbo is the lead investigator.  The investigation is continuing.
