11:59am–#Bridgeport CT– A man in the 400 block of Golden Rod Avenue woke to find two men in his home. The man frightened the intruders who then fled in the backyard towards Queen Street. Police are canvassing the area.

We prepare for the day and order supplies ahead of time-based on the number of volunteers. Please do not sign up unless you are sure you are able to attend.
Women Build Kits will be available for purchase the day of the build. Please bring cash if you wish to purchase a kit for $25, which will benefit Women Build’s fundraising efforts for a Habitat CFC home.

6:06pm–#Bridgeport CT– A child allegedly ran from a parked car into traffic and was struck by a slow-moving car. First responders said the child had minor injuries and taken to the hospital to be further evaluated.

#Fairfield CT–On 11/14/2018 at 3:59pm the Fairfield Police Department responded to 37 Prince Street for a report of animal cruelty. Officers responded to find several animal carcasses, which are believed to be canine remains, in crates within the residence. Fairfield Animal Control Officers and Detectives responded to the house to further investigate. The remains were removed after a search warrant for the residence was conducted. On 11/29/2018 the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau completed an arrest warrant affidavit for the crimes of Animal Cruelty – 5 counts, and Criminal Damage to Landlord's property by a Tenant 1st Degree, for Heidi E Lueders DOB: 03/04/1987, of Prince St. in Fairfield. The arrest warrant was signed by a Bridgeport Superior Court judge who set the bond at $50,000. The Fairfield Police Detective Bureau is currently coordinating the terms of her surrender.
UPDATE On January 15 th , 2019 Heidi E. Lueders DOB: 3/4/87 who formerly resided at 37 Prince St. in Fairfield, and now resides at Marshall Ridge Rd. in New Canaan turned herself in at Fairfield Police Headquarters. Lueders was charged with 5 counts of Cruelty to Animals and Criminal Damage to Landlord’s Property by a Tenant First Degree. She was released after posting a $50,000 court set bond. #Fairfield CT – El 11/14/2018 a las 3:59pm el Departamento de policía de Fairfield respondió a la 37 calle de Prince para un informe de crueldad animal. 12:40am–#Bridgeport CT– Police received a call from Walgreen Security of an intruder in their 960 North Avenue Store. Police surrounded the store and officers peered in the window and observed the man allegedly attempting load up and steal cigarettes. Once the man realized the police were there he kept running back and forth towards the pharmacy department. He then attempted to escape through the ceiling (tile dust can be seen on his hoodie). K-9 from Westport arrived along with a person with a key to the store. Police had trouble locating him and thought he might have still been in the ceiling. He was found crouched in the pharmacy department. Police had tried every door and it is thought that the man might have hidden in the store past closing. He was apprehended without issue.
