BRIDGEPORT POLICE ARREST BRONX RAPPER FOR A SECOND SHOOTING


#Bridgeport Police Press Release–A 21 year-old female who fired multiple gunshots out of a window of a William St. home in June, and then barricaded herself inside, has been arrested for taking part in another shooting in Bridgeport in February of this year.


Nilah Bowie, DOB: 12/30/00, of 1872 Bathgate Ave, in the Bronx, New York. who goes by the performance name of Tiny B, was taken into custody during a court appearance in Bridgeport on Wednesday. She was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Assault in the First Degree, Risk of Injury to A Minor, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree and Breach of Peace in the Second Degree. The charges stem from the shooting of a 22-year-old of Bridgeport man who was sitting in his car on Park St. on February 18th, 2022.  The victim’s injury was non-life threatening
Bowie’s bond was set at $500,000. 


According to the investigation by the Detective Bureau, Bowie had a dispute with a juvenile female who was in the car.  She then brought the shooter back to the car. The shooter then opened fire. The male victim was shot in the leg while in the driver’s seat. 
Ballistic evidence tied the gun Bowie was found with on William St. in June to the Park St. shooting in February.


The Bridgeport Police Department’s Identification Unit/Major Crimes detectives used the National Integrated Ballistics Information System (NIBIN) to connect the shootings through ballistic comparisons. The NIBIN system is run in conjunction with the United States Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, and Explosives.


Bowie’s rap videos contain images of gun violence and gang lifestyle. They also contain profanity and derogatory references to women.


Bowie was charged with multiple counts in the June 9th case, including Risk of Injury to a Minor, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, Illegal Discharge of Firearm and Interfering/Resisting. Those charges are still pending. The incident resulted in a response from the Department’s Emergency Services Unit.
The Bridgeport Police is seeking additional suspects in the February 18th shooting, and expect to make more arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jeffrey Holtz at the below number.  All tips will be kept confidential.

Bridgeport News: Schools At Half Day

I understand the decision to operate a half day schedule for the remainder of the week has caused challenges for some families. Many of our schools recorded classroom temperatures over 90 degrees yesterday with the forecast calling for even higher temperatures over the next few days. The district team made the decision to mitigate placing students and staff in a potentially dangerous environment. The weather we are currently experiencing is not typical for this time of the year which made planning impossible. I ask for your patience and cooperation as we do the very best to provide a healthy and safe teaching and learning environment for everyone.

FTC TO INVESTIGATE TWITTER WHISTLEBLOWER CLAIMS

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Chair of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security, raised serious concerns over whistleblower claims brought forward by Peiter “Mudge” Zatko regarding Twitter’s data security practices and called on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to immediately investigate Twitter for potential breaches of its 2011 consent decree with the agency or any violations of consumer protection laws. 

“According to disclosures and evidence provided by Peiter ‘Mudge’ Zatko, a highly-respected cybersecurity expert who served as Twitter’s Security Lead from 2020 to 2022, Twitter executives allegedly failed to address significant security vulnerabilities, neglected the mishandling of personal data, and ignored known privacy risks to users for more than a decade,” Blumenthal wrote to FTC Chair Lina Khan. “These troubling disclosures paint the picture of a company that has consistently and repeatedly prioritized profits over the safety of its users and its responsibility to the public, as Twitter executives appeared to ignore or hinder efforts to address threats to user security and privacy.”

Citing numerous security failures and breaches involving Twitter, Blumenthal urged the FTC to investigate the whistleblower’s allegations and bring appropriate enforcement actions against the company.

“If the Commission does not vigorously oversee and enforce its orders, they will not be taken seriously and these dangerous breaches will continue,” Blumenthal continued. “I urge the Commission to investigate the allegations and information provided in Mr. Zatko’s whistleblower complaint, and to bring enforcement actions against any breaches of its consent decree or business practices that are unfair or deceptive, including bringing civil penalties and imposing liability on individual Twitter executives where appropriate.”

Norwalk News: Trespass and Interfering Arrests

#Norwalk CT– On Monday, August 29th at 9:06 am the Norwalk Police Communications center
received a 911 call from a State of Connecticut Marshall attempting to serve an
eviction order at a residence located at 9 Sylvester Court.
The Marshall reported that he was met by a group that was interfering and
obstructing his attempt to serve the order, as well as several individuals
trespassing on the property.


A group of officers responded to Sylvester Court and made contact with the
Marshall. The officers were confronted by a group a 15-20 people protesting the
eviction, trespassing, and obstructing. Officers clearly advised the group that they
were trespassing on the property and to leave. Warnings were given by electronic
device and personally by the responding officers.


During the course of this investigation, officers were confronted by Andrew
Pritchard age 59 the subject of the eviction. Pritchard refused to leave the
property ignoring numerous warnings to leave and was placed under arrest after
a brief resistance.


The other protestors, many of whom traveled from outside of Norwalk and the
State of Connecticut heeded our warnings to leave the property and continued
their protest in the street.
As this was occurring, an individual identified as Roberto Porzio age 48, of
Westport Connecticut approached an officer blocking the road while holding an
axe in his hand. Porzio, who is a believed associate of Pritchard, ignored several
orders to stop approaching and to drop the axe. Porzio stated to the officer that

he was not stopping and continued to approach. The officer drew his taser and
ordered him to stop, the subject was taken into custody by assisting officers.
Andrew Pritchard was charged with Criminal Trespass First Degree, and
Interfering with an officer, and held on a $10.000 bond.
Roberto Porzio was charged with Interfering with an Officer and held on a
$20.000 bond.
Both individuals have court appearance dates of 9-12-22.
No officers or other persons were injured as a result of today’s incident.
The Norwalk Police Department would like to thank the residents of lower
Gregory Blvd and the Marvin beach association for their patience and
understanding this morning, as we investigated this crime.
