DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

On May 20th, 2015 at 0106 hrs. Fairfield Police observed a black BMW 528i, bearing CT reg. 472RYR, traveling northbound on Querida Street without a front registration plate displayed. a motor vehicle stop and a DMV check on CT reg. 472RYR revealed no record found. Fairfield News: Restaurant Fire

UPDATE from Fairfield Firefighters: On May 19, 2015 at 9:32 PM, the Fairfield Fire Department received a 911 report of a building fire at the S&S Dugout located at 3449 Post Road. First arriving police and fire units found a heavy smoke condition inside the building which is a restaurant on the 1st floor and residential apartment’s on the second floor. Fire personnel were met by a resident employee who stated that after smelling smoke inside the building, he opened the restaurant and  used an extinguisher to control the fire behind the counter. The building was quickly searched, evacuated and the remainder of the fire was extinguished by fire personnel. No injuries were reported by any of the occupants. Fire…

Bridgeport Police and EMS Save Baby Not Breathing

How about some likes for the first responders in Bridgeport who came to the rescue when a baby wasn't breathing. The incident took place yesterday at the corner of James and Harral Avenue around 4:30pm. Bridgeport Police Department on patrol came across a panicked mother with her child not breathing. Police officers had to determine if it was quicker to drive the baby to the hospital but the quick work of police dispatch got EMS to the scene. If you listen carefully you can hear the mother crying in despair, so officer had to take control of the scene, calm the mother and help save the baby.
