3:44pm–#Fairfield CT– A school bus driver joking with the students had all the kids on board laughing except for one girl who did not know the bus driver was kidding around. The bus driver joked he was tired and play acted as if he was sleepy and yawning, all the kids laughed but one who called her mother and said the bus driver might be drunk or having a medical emergency while traveling down Reef Road. She gave a landmark of the Seagrape. Lieutenant Keith Broderick told me officers on patrol observed the bus and found nothing out of the ordinary and followed the bus, stopping it in the 1000 block of Fairfield Beach Road. Field sobriety tests found the driver sober. Interviews with the students indicated that they knew he was joking around. Officials from First Student and the Board of Education also went to the scene. The bus is thought to be from Sherman School of 250 Fern Street.
Fairfield CT–(Fairfield News: Blight Continues To Plague Fairfield) – Fairfield CT–All the nice improvements that have happened on Kings Highway East with the new Walgreens replacing the eye sore that was once Brown Brothers Furniture and rundown apartments have given a uplift to the neighborhood. Even the Hookah Lounge has remodeled. What continues to be an eye sore to the neighborhood is the building across the street from Walgreens. What once was a Volkswagen dealership is now overflow parking for a local car dealer. While the commercials for the dealership jokes the dad will never retire from the dealership, maybe he should take a ride down the street and see how this dilapidated building on the property he is renting continues to be an eyesore bringing down property values to his neighbors.
Fairfield News: It was like an investigation with Jason and Grant on the SyFi Channel with their Roto Rooter truck for the TV show Ghost Hunters. But this time is was with Mike and Paul from the local Roto Rooter who was digging in the basement of a home in the 900 block of Holland Hill Road to clear a blocked pipe and found bones of various sizes. Police officers were not able to determine the type of bones and detectives were called to the scene. The detectives were unable to determine what kind of bones and took a sampling to be further examined. Police said they were found in a corner of the basement where the old coal chute use to be located in the in 165 year old home. Police think an animal crawled in many years ago and then died but they cannot assume anything until the bones are positively identified.
