Fairfield Man Damages Milford Motel
#Milford CT– On August 20, 2023, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the Mayflower Motel located at 219 Woodmont Road in response to a reported incident of criminal mischief. Following a thorough investigation into the matter, it was ascertained that an individual identified as Raj Kumar, a 31-year-old male residing at 51 Marne Avenue in Fairfield, was responsible for causing damage to the property. Consequently, Kumar was taken into custody and subsequently charged with the offense of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree.
In light of the charges brought against him, Kumar’s bond was set as a Promise to Appear (PTA), and he is scheduled to appear in court on September 19, 2023, to address the allegations. The investigation concluded that the damage to the Mayflower Motel property had been inflicted by Kumar, leading to his apprehension and subsequent legal proceedings.
Troopers Respond to Wrong-Way Driver on I-95 in Milford
#Milford CT–On Sunday, August 20, 2023, at approximately 10:29 p.m., Troop G in Bridgeport was advised of a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound travel lanes on Interstate 95 in the area of Exit #39 in Milford. Responding Troopers observed a silver Subaru Forester displaying a Connecticut registration, traveling south in the northbound lanes and initiated a motor vehicle stop, safely bringing the vehicle to a stop in the area of Exit #37.
Troop G was further advised that the Subaru had struck another vehicle prior to being stopped by troopers. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
The operator of the Subaru was positively identified as Kelsey McManus (DOB 04/03/1989) of Norwalk. During their interactions, Troopers observed that McManus was exhibiting signs of possible impairment. McManus agreed to participate in
Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which were not performed to standard. Based upon the information obtained during the on-scene investigation, McManus was taken into custody and transported to Troop G, where she was processed and charged with the following:
C.G.S. 14-227a, Operating Under the Influence of Drugs and/or Alcohol
C.G.S. 14-222, Reckless Driving, 14-237, Driving Wrong Way on a Divided Highway
C.G.S. 53a-63, Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree
C.G.S. 53a-167a, Interfering with Officer/Resisting.
McManus was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Milford Superior Court, on September 21, 2023.
Milford News: Sleeping On Back Porch Nets Violation of Release
#Milford CT–On August 2, 2023, authorities received a report about David Sutton IV (a 59-year-old male) violating the Conditions of Release, which were issued after a domestic violence arrest. The violation involved him sleeping on the back porch of a residence on Naugatuck Avenue. As a result, he was taken into custody and charged with Violation of Conditions of Release 1st Degree. The court set his bond at $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on 8-2-2023.

On July 11, 2023, officers responded to a domestic violence incident near Wheelers Farm Road. Upon arrival, an officer observed a vehicle flee at a high rate of speed. They spoke to the victim who was visibly shaken and upset, sitting in their vehicle. The victim had bruising to their face and an abrasion on their leg. The victim said
that Roswell Menefee from Taft Avenue in Bridgeport had dragged the victim out of the shower and began arguing with them. Menefee struck the victim in the face several times and dragged them by the hair across the floor. The victim was able to flee. An hour later, the victim attempted to leave the complex in their car. Menefee blocked the victim from exiting with his car, but the victim was able to leave the lot. Menefee followed and blocked the victim’s car again and exited the vehicle. Menefee approached the car and began throwing items at the car. Menefee also struck the car with a tire iron, and the victim was able to call the police. Police were able to locate Menefee at the Route 15 North rest stop and he was taken into custody and placed under arrest.

Milford News: Gettin’ Fizzy With It
On June 28, 2023, Kathleen Thibault, a 64-year-old white female from Demaio Drive, was arrested on Milford Point Road for violating a restraining order and assaulting a police officer.
The victim of the restraining order stated that Thibault had shown up at their residence and began yelling at them. Thibault fled the scene in her vehicle but was later taken into custody at her home.
While Thibault was being booked, she became belligerent and threw a soda at the booking officer, drenching them in their face, shoulder, shirt, arm, and watch. Thibault was additionally charged with assault on a police officer. Good thing it was a soft drink.
Thibault was released on $3,000 bail
Milford News: Homeless Man Arrested
Milford News: On June 14, 2023, Joseph Caviness, a 40-year-old homeless white man, was arrested for shoplifting at Boscov’s. He was caught on camera taking merchandise worth $113 on two separate occasions. Caviness also has an active warrant for his arrest in New York City. He is being held on a $250,500 bond.

Milford News: On June 15, 2023, Carmen Fabozzi, a 49-year-old white man from Naugatuck, was arrested at Target for shoplifting. He had concealed merchandise worth $222.95 and had five warrants for failure to appear in court. He was taken into custody and his bond was set at $13,000.

2023-06-06@2:06pm–#Milford CT– State Police radio report saying police are looking for a black Nissan responsible for shots fired in the downtown area within the last 10 minutes. Responsible is a woman who was detained in Milford on gun charges overnight.
