Norwalk News: Shots Fired Arrest

#Norwalk CT–On January 6, 2023, at 11:51pm, the Norwalk Combined Dispatch received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the Garner Street area. Responding Patrol Division Officers discovered evidence that shots had been fired, and thankfully no one was injured. The Norwalk Police Detective Bureau assumed the investigation and determined that multiple suspects had fired shots at a victim on Garner Street. Based upon their investigation, arrest warrants were issued for two suspects.

On January 11, 2023, Norwalk Detectives, assisted by the Emergency Service Unit Tactical ResponseTeam arrested two suspects at their homes, as previously reported. Norwalk Police Detectives continued the investigation and developed the identity of a third suspect, Dashanti Ray Patterson-Hamlin, along with probable cause to apply for a warrant for his arrest. On February 16, 2023.

Detectives obtained said arrest warrant, located, and arrested Patterson-Hamlin.

Arrested: Dashanti Ray Patterson-Hamlin, 29, of Ferris Ave., Norwalk, CT.

Charges: Criminal Attempt at Assault 1st, Reckless Endangerment 1st, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Conspiracy to Commit Assault 1st

Bond: $200,000 Court date: February 24, 2023

NARCOTICS TRAFFICKING ARREST

On February 7, 2023, the Norwalk Police Special Services Division and the Tactical Response Team served two arrest warrants on Donald “Showbizz” Flamer and executed a search seizure warrant at his residence on Ely Avenue apartment 2B Norwalk.

The warrants are the result of a year-long investigation into continuing narcotics trafficking by Donald Flamer. Flamer is currently out on bond from an April 13, 2022, narcotics arrest. Flamer posted bail on April 13, 2022, and had conditions of release placed on him. One of the conditions placed on him was that he was ordered to stay away from the Ely Avenue residence and the Roodner Court Housing Complex. Failure to stay away violates the condition of release and is the basis for arrest.

Investigators seized the following today:

21 grams of crack cocaine laced with Fentanyl

25.7 grams of powder cocaine laced with fentanyl

21 glassine folds containing Heroin laced with Fentanyl

45 oxycodone pills

3.5 grams of purple cocaine laced with fentanyl

Arrested: Donald Flamer, 42 of 261 Ely Ave. Apt 2B, Norwalk, CT

Charges:

Five counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Five counts of Sale of Narcotics Substance, Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Two counts of Possession of Drugs within 200’ of a School/Daycare, Two counts Possession of Controlled Substance within 200’ of a School or Daycare.

Norwalk News: Homicide Investigation Shuts Down Route 7

Norwalk, CT (February 4, 2023): On Saturday, February 4, 2023, at approximately 3:19 a.m., Troopers assigned to Troop G in Bridgeport responded to a report of one car motor vehicle accident, on Route 7 northbound in the area of Exit 2, in the City of Norwalk.

Upon arrival Troopers located an individual in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. From the evidence on scene, it was determined this was not a motor vehicle accident, but a homicide.

The Western District Major Crime Squad (WDMC) responded to assume the investigation and the New Haven State’s Attorney was notified of this incident. This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Route 7 N to Exit 2 and the I-95 North and Southbound entrance ramps to Route 7 N are closed for the purposes of this investigation.

The deceased male has been identified as:

John Gavilanes (DOB: 01/02/1988), of Norwalk, Connecticut

The investigation remains active and ongoing. NORWALK NEWS: SEXUAL ASSAULT ARREST

#Norwalk CT–On September 20, 2021, the Norwalk Police Department received a complaint of sexual assault against a juvenile victim. Patrol Officers responded and learned the details of the incident and that the suspect had left the area. The Norwalk Police Special Victim’s Unit was notified and assumed the investigation.

A detailed and extensive investigation was conducted in conjunction with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families as well as The Children’s Connection. The investigation revealed that the suspect, Manuel Guaman had lived with the child’s family and had sexually assaulted the child many

times over several years. When the child disclosed to their parents what had happened, the Norwalk Police were notified. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained by Detective LaPak.

The Norwalk Police Special Services Division along with the United States Marshal Service Violent Fugitive Task Force developed information that Guaman was staying in Danbury. On February 3, 2023, investigators located and arrested Guaman at 116 Coalpit Hill Road Danbury.

Arrested: Manuel Mesias Guaman Japa, 46 of 116 Coalpit Hill Rd, Apt B, Danbury, CT.

Charges: Sexual Assault in the First Degree of a Person Under Thirteen Years Old and The Actor is Over Two Years Older, Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree, and Illegal Sexual Contact with a Person Under Thirteen Years of Age.

Bond: $1,500,000

Court: February 14, 2023

NORWALK NEWS: CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFTS

On January 25, 2023 The Norwalk Police Department Combined Dispatch Center received several complaints throughout the day of catalytic converters thefts from parked vehicles. All thefts, except for one, occurred in the East Norwalk area of the City, with one reported at Norwalk Hospital.

Witnesses and video reported and showed a tan colored older Lexus with a sunroof and a black colored trunk, bearing Connecticut registration 404FDJ as parking next to vehicles, and its occupants exiting and removing the catalytic converters from under the vehicles. The suspects were reported to be wearing face masks and appear to have concentrated their efforts in east Norwalk.

One of the witnesses reported that the tan Lexus vehicle attempted to strike her while she was on foot in the parking lot, as it was fleeing the scene. The witness at the Norwalk Hospital incident reported a black colored BMW sedan bearing Connecticut

registration BB47451, arrive and park next to a vehicle. Two occupants wearing face masks exited the BMW and stole the catalytic converter from the vehicle by using jacks and a portable power tool.

The suspects stole the catalytic converters from three Toyota vehicles and five Hondas.
