2025-07-11@#Norwalk CT—Norwalk Police executed a search warrant at R & R Smoke Shop on Main Street as part of an investigation into unlicensed cannabis sales. Officers discovered a hidden electronic trap beneath the sales counter containing a large stash of marijuana products and THC edibles.

The compartment held over 1 kilogram of marijuana products, including pre-rolls, THC vape cartridges, and edibles far exceeding Connecticut’s legal THC limits. Officers also recovered $1,169 in cash. The investigation revealed that the shop was operating without a state-issued cannabis license.

Mohamed Mohamed Lebrahim, 28, was arrested at the scene. He was charged with possession of more than 1 kilogram of marijuana products, possession with intent to sell, and use of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2025.

Norwalk Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of Child

Norwalk Police arrested 60-year-old Jose Rodriguez after a months-long investigation into allegations of repeated sexual assaults against a 5-year-old child. The investigation began on March 20, 2025, when the child identified Rodriguez as the suspect.

The case was led by the Norwalk Police Special Victims Unit, with assistance from DCF, The Children’s Connection, Yale New Haven Hospital, and the Stamford State’s Attorney’s Office. On July 16, 2025, a warrant was issued, and Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident at his home on Ferris Avenue.

He was charged with sexual assault in the first degree and risk of injury to a minor. His bond was set at $1,000,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 17, 2025.

Fugitive from New Hampshire Arrested in Norwalk

Officers arrested Jianming Zeng, 33, a fugitive from the Sullivan County House of Corrections in New Hampshire, after responding to a report of a suspicious person at 331 West Avenue. A gas station attendant reported that a man wearing only a t-shirt and underwear, with blood on his hands, had entered the lot in a heavy-duty pickup truck and then left the scene. The truck’s license plate was determined to be stolen from Claremont, New Hampshire.

Patrol officers located the truck minutes later at the Shell gas station at 94 West Avenue. Inside the store, they found Zeng, now wearing only a flannel jacket and underwear, with multiple lacerations to his hands and feet. A search of the vehicle uncovered a torn orange jumpsuit.

Zeng had escaped custody the day before by throwing clothing over a fence and climbing through barbed wire. He was confirmed to be a fugitive from Sullivan County and was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and larceny of a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $500,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 25, 2025.

Elderly Woman Fatally Struck by Truck in Norwalk Driveway

On July 12, 2025, at approximately 10:16 AM, Norwalk emergency services responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a pedestrian struck by a pickup truck near 133 Connecticut Avenue. The victim, identified as 84-year-old Josephine Pimpinella, was found with serious injuries and transported to Norwalk Hospital, where she later died.

Norwalk Police’s Crash Reconstruction Unit and detectives responded to the scene, gathering surveillance and witness statements. The investigation revealed that Ms. Pimpinella was crossing the driveway of 133 Connecticut Avenue when she was struck.

Reckless Joyride Ends in Arrest for Stolen Car Duo in Norwalk

Norwalk Police arrested Nevaeh Williams, 19, and a juvenile following a dangerous pursuit involving a stolen vehicle on the Stroffolino Bridge. Officers attempted to safely contain the car due to heavy traffic and pedestrians nearby, but the juvenile driver reversed recklessly, nearly hitting a cruiser and drove into oncoming traffic. Police made controlled contact to stop the vehicle, after which both suspects fled on foot into Veterans Park. Officers quickly apprehended the juvenile driver and Williams without incident. Both face charges including larceny of a motor vehicle and interfering with police.

Negligent Firearm Storage Leads to Arrest in Norwalk

2025-06-27@Norwalk CT – Norwalk Police arrested 37-year-old Alaina Jones following an investigation into two stolen Glock 9mm handguns from her home. Detectives determined that the firearms were not securely stored, despite two juveniles living in the residence. The guns were later recovered by Stamford Police, and two male suspects were arrested. Jones was charged with risk of injury to a child, interfering with an officer, and negligent storage of a firearm. She was released on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 11, 2025.

Live Grenade Found in Norwalk

On Monday, June 30, 2025, officers from the Norwalk Police Patrol Division were dispatched to
two separate locations in response to reports of found hand grenades.
At 10:21 AM, officers responded to a residence on St. Mary’s Lane, where a resident discovered
a grenade on the side of the road. Later that day, at 3:30 PM, officers were dispatched to a
residence on Wolfpit Avenue after a grenade was located in the backyard of the property.


During both incidents, patrol officers and supervisors secured the areas, and the Stamford Police
Department Bomb Squad was notified and responded to assist.
The investigations revealed the grenade located on St. Mary’s Lane was disabled and inert. The
grenade located on Wolfpit Avenue was confirmed to be live and was safely removed by the
bomb squad. A Norwalk Police Department Explosive Detection Dog and his handler conducted
a sweep of the surrounding area, and no additional devices were located.

Golf Galaxy Burglary Suspect Surrenders After $23K Theft

Norwalk, CT – On February 17, 2025, Norwalk Police responded to a burglary at Golf Galaxy on Connecticut Avenue, where approximately $23,000 worth of golf clubs were reported stolen. Detectives launched an investigation into the break-in and determined it was part of a broader pattern of commercial burglaries targeting golf equipment retailers across New York and Connecticut.

With assistance from the New York State Police, Norwalk detectives identified 41-year-old Matthew Berman as a suspect in the case. Authorities say Berman has been tied to multiple thefts involving high-end golf merchandise, leading to significant losses for businesses in the region.

After developing probable cause, Norwalk Police obtained an arrest warrant. On the morning of June 25, 2025, Berman turned himself in to Detective Bryce, who led the investigation. He was charged with Burglary, Larceny in the First Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. Berman was held on a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 9, 2025.
