Norwalk, CT – In November 2023, Norwalk Police were contacted by Desoto Correctional Institution in Florida about Jacob Getman, a Fairfield man incarcerated on domestic violence charges and wanted on multiple warrants in Connecticut. After confirming he was wanted on several warrants—many involving domestic violence—Norwalk Police arranged for his extradition.
On June 22, 2025, members of the Norwalk Police Special Services Division traveled to Florida to extradite Getman, 36, of Fairfield. He was returned to Connecticut and held on a total of $280,000 bond for multiple warrants including four counts of first-degree failure to appear, two counts of violation of a protective order, and two counts of violation of probation. Getman was arraigned at Stamford Court on June 23, 2025.

The Norwalk Police Department is investigating several reports of a scam involving an individual impersonating a Norwalk Police Officer. The caller falsely claims that the recipient has missed a court appearance and must pay a fine immediately. In at least one instance, the impersonator used the name “Jason Wilson.” This individual is not a Norwalk Police Officer.
Please be advised that the Norwalk Police Department will never call or solicit money for missed court appearances or any legal matter. These calls are fraudulent.

During the morning hours of June 12, 2025, members of the Norwalk Police Department’s Traffic Unit were conducting traffic enforcement throughout the city as part of the department’s Summer Slowdown Days Initiative aimed at curbing speeding and aggressive driving in Norwalk. At 7:36 AM, Officer Equi was monitoring morning rush hour traffic along East Avenue when she observed a black Tesla traveling southbound fail to stop for a red traffic control signal at the intersection of East Avenue and Hendricks Avenue. The vehicle continued onto the I-95 southbound on-ramp without stopping. Officer Equi initiated a traffic stop, and during the course of her investigation determined that the driver, Kirk Thomas, age 29, of 296 Exeter Street, Bridgeport, CT, was operating his vehicle under the influence. Thomas was also smoking cannabis while driving and was found to be in possession of a Glock pistol. Thomas was taken into custody without incident and his vehicle was towed from the scene. He was charged with carrying a firearm under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drug, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to obey traffic control signals, operating a vehicle with illegally tinted windows, and smoking or otherwise inhaling or ingesting cannabis while operating a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $5,000. His court date is scheduled for June 26, 2025.
Norwalk Police arrested 34-year-old Melvin Colon after a months-long narcotics investigation centered on 265 Wilson Avenue. Following multiple community complaints, officers obtained four search warrants and five arrest warrants for Colon, targeting his apartment, two vehicles, and his person. He was taken into custody near his residence on June 2 and found with two baggies of suspected cocaine at the time of his arrest.
A search of Colon’s apartment uncovered a ghost gun, an assault pistol with high-capacity magazines, over 150 grams of suspected cocaine, drug packaging materials, and more than $20,000 in cash. Colon faces a total of 19 charges including narcotics sales, possession with intent to sell, illegal possession of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and operation of a drug factory. His total bond was set at $500,000.
The Rowayton Memorial Day Parade will be on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 12:00–1:30 PM. The following streets will be closed during this time:
Highland Avenue from Wilson Avenue to McKinley Street
McKinley Street from Highland Avenue to Rowayton Avenue
Rowayton Avenue from McKinley Street to Witch Lane
Route 136 will be detoured from Rowayton Avenue onto Witch Lane to Crest Road to Wilson Avenue. This will be the same route, in reverse, for motorists traveling from Wilson Avenue. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area during the parade.
On May 20, 2025, Norwalk Police stopped a vehicle near Cudlipp Street and Jacob Street and found the driver, Charles Razor, had a suspended license. Passenger Darius McGee was carrying a loaded Glock 45 with an extended magazine, and a search of the vehicle uncovered another loaded handgun with a defaced serial number, suspected narcotics, and unidentified pills. None of the occupants had a valid pistol permit, and all were taken into custody without incident.
Charles Razor, 26, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Weapons in a Motor Vehicle, Alteration of a Serial Number, Operating Under Suspension, and Possession of Narcotics. His bond was set at $250,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 3, 2025.
Darius McGee, 23, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Weapons in a Motor Vehicle, Illegal Sale/Purchase of a High-Capacity Magazine, and Possession of Narcotics. His bond was set at $200,000, with a court date of June 3, 2025.
Dasiah Darielle McGee, 23, was charged with Weapons in a Motor Vehicle. Her bond was set at $10,000, and she is also due in court on June 3, 2025.
Norwalk Police Officers have arrested Giovani Holguin, the driver involved in a motor vehicle accident on April 19, 2025, which resulted in serious physical injuries to a juvenile. At 7:17 PM on April 19, 2025, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle accident in the area of 44 Wilson Avenue in which a vehicle struck a juvenile. Officers from the Norwalk Police Department, along with the Norwalk Fire Department and Norwalk Hospital Emergency Medical Services, were quickly dispatched to the scene. The juvenile, who had sustained serious injuries, was transported to Norwalk Hospital for medical treatment.
The Norwalk Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to process evidence. Officer Equi of the Crash Reconstruction Unit led the investigation, canvassing the area for surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and reconstructing the accident based on the evidence gathered at the scene.
The investigation revealed that the injured juvenile was one of five individuals riding their bicycles along the eastbound lane of Wilson Avenue. Holguin, who was driving a vehicle westbound on Wilson Avenue, left his lane of travel prior to striking the juvenile.
After a thorough investigation, Officer Equi applied for an arrest warrant for Holguin. On May 14, 2025, Holguin turned himself in at Norwalk Police Headquarters.
Holguin was charged with five counts of Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree, Reckless Driving, Traveling Unreasonably Fast, and Failure to Maintain Proper Lane. He was held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 23, 2025.
A Norwalk High School softball coach has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior and unwanted touching of students on school grounds. Cary Nadel, 70, of Wilton, turned himself in to police on May 9, 2025, and faces four counts of Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree and one count of Risk of Injury to a Minor.
