Shortly after 7:00 PM on April 19th, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle accident involving a bicyclist on Wilson Avenue. Emergency crews responded swiftly to the scene, where the bicyclist was found with serious injuries and transported to the hospital for treatment.
Norwalk Police Accident Investigators are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. A kitchen fire broke out on April 20th on Lockwood Lane in Norwalk, prompting a swift response from first responders who quickly brought the blaze under control. While the fire was contained to the kitchen area, one resident was displaced as a result of the damage.
The American Red Cross is helping one family – one adult after a fire today on Lockwood Lane, Norwalk. The Red Cross provided assistance to meet the family’s immediate needs. Responders included: Heather Dunn, Max Morenberg, Namrata Kanwal and Jon Basso.
The Red Cross also provided a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire, including tips on cleanup; notification of important contacts; dealing with damaged items and more. The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as deodorant, toothbrushes, shaving supplies and other items a resident might need when suddenly displaced from their home by a fire.
Those affected will connect with Red Cross caseworkers in the coming days to work on a longer-term recovery plan. The Red Cross is able to provide assistance through the generosity of our donors and commitment of our volunteers.

At 3:51 AM on April 13, 2025, Norwalk emergency services responded to a serious crash at the intersection of West Avenue and Reed Street. Multiple 911 callers reported that a moped was struck by a vehicle.
Police, fire, and EMS arrived on scene and began treating the moped operator, 52-year-old Jose Olavarria of Norwalk. He was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene.

Norwalk Police have arrested 18-year-old Justin Gross in connection to a residential burglary that occurred on January 26, 2025, at 100 San Vincenzo Place. Officers learned that the homeowner’s vehicle and several personal items were stolen during the break-in. Detectives traced the suspects to the Stamford Mall, where they allegedly sold stolen goods, and determined through surveillance footage, interviews, and GPS analysis that the suspects were known to the victim. Gross faces multiple charges including burglary and larceny. The case remains under investigation, with additional arrests pending.

Norwalk Police executed a search and seizure warrant at Mohegan Smoke Shop, 84 North Main Street, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, as part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of cannabis products without a state license. Inside a locked storage room, officers found pre-wrapped marijuana cigarettes, THC gummies exceeding the legal limit, and vape products—all packaged for sale—along with several hundred dollars in cash, which was seized pending asset forfeiture.
As a result of the search, 23-year-old Yassin R. Adwan of Bridgeport was arrested and charged with possession and intent to sell more than 1kg of marijuana products. He was held on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 24, 2025.
Norwalk Police have arrested Eugene Davis, 44, following an investigation into a shots fired incident that occurred on April 4, 2025. Patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire near Connecticut Avenue around 9:10 PM and discovered several shell casings in the roadway. Detectives from the Norwalk Police Department assumed the investigation, working through the night to gather evidence and conduct interviews. Their efforts led to the identification of Davis as the suspected shooter. An arrest warrant was secured, and Davis turned himself in at police headquarters on April 10. Eugene Davis is charged with Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, and Criminal Attempt at Assault in the First Degree. He was held on a $1,000,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 24, 2025.
A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at the SONO Collection that took place on December 28, 2024. Just after 5:00 PM, two men and one woman stole ten handbags worth approximately $2,500 from Bloomingdale’s and fled the scene, with one of the suspects spraying a security officer in the face with what was believed to be pepper spray or mace.
Following an extensive investigation involving video surveillance and other techniques, Norwalk detectives identified two of the suspects as Jesus Rodriguez and Evelyn Marreno—both wanted in multiple states for similar retail thefts. Detectives determined Rodriguez was the one who used the irritant against the security officer.
Rodriguez was arrested by the Yonkers Police Department and extradited to Connecticut on April 3, 2025. Marreno was taken into custody weeks earlier by New Jersey authorities and remains held in Hudson County awaiting extradition for charges in both Norwalk and New York.
Jesus Rodriguez, 32, has been charged with robbery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the second degree, organized retail theft, conspiracy to commit organized retail theft, and larceny in the third degree. His bond was set at $75,000, and he is due in court on February 17, 2025.
Norwalk Police arrested a 58-year-old man following a search and seizure warrant executed on April 3, 2025, after a lengthy narcotics investigation. Officers detained Jacob Beach outside his North Main Street apartment and located crack cocaine both loose and packaged for sale inside the residence. He was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $55,000, and he is due in court on April 17.
Norwalk Police raided R & R Smoke Shop and Convenience at 213 Main St. on March 18, 2025, marking the third time in four months the shop has been targeted. Officers seized 17.319 pounds of cannabis and $749 in cash as evidence. Abdias Joel Feliz-Garcia, 27, of New Haven, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell over 1 kilogram of cannabis, sale of over 1 kilogram of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He faces an additional charge of cannabis sales from a separate incident, bringing his total bond to $110,000.
