Video: Bridgeport Commit $1,000,000 to Re-Start Community Policing in Public Housing Projects

Bridgeport – Mayor Joe Ganim announced today that the Bridgeport Police Department will be establishing permanent patrols in the city’s public housing projects, providing a heightened level of security to areas that have seen spikes in violent crimes.    To accomplish this, Mayor Ganim has established a Community Policing Task Force within the Bridgeport Police Department.  The announcement was made at the newly re-opened Bridgeport Police neighborhood substation near the Trumbull Gardens housing community.  The task force will consist of two Sergeants and sixteen Police Officers who will be assigned to duty in Trumbull Gardens, Charles F. Bridgeport News: Arrest Warrant For Robbery/Carjacking

#Bridgeport Connecticut--An arrest warrant was signed for Andrew Ferguson charging him with robbery in the first degree for the robbery that occurred at the Citgo Gas Station yesterday. Ferguson is also responsible for a stabbing/ carjacking that occurred early this morning.   The victims handgun may have been inside the vehicle that was recovered and is now missing unknown if Ferguson is in possession of the firearm. The victim is in serious condition at Yale New Haven Hospital and is unable to provide any further details.
