Underage Party Broken Up After Shots Fired

Around 10:15 Monday night police on patrol heard 10 to 15 shots fired in Marina Village. Police arrived to investigate. K-9 was called in and shell casing were found outside 558 Gregory Street. No person or property was hit by the gunfire.
When police arrived they reported on the police radio that there were four unresponsive people inside. Neighbors told me that the building had a mold issue and vacant. An ambulance was sent but no one was treated or transported.

What it appears is that this was a large gang recruitment party according to witnesses. A large group of 20 to 30 teens were seen being told by police to go home. Police radio traffic indicated there were a total of 5 men and women arrested. Two guns were recovered in the incident. I have not spoken to police but have an e-mail into them for the official word. If I get any further information I will posted it on DoingItLocal.com

DJ Charged With Threatening at O’Shea

#Bridgeport CT — April 29, 2013) – A disc jockey from Waterbury was cited for threatening after an encounter at a Black Rock bar. Police were called to O’Shea, 2770 Fairfield Ave., Sunday at 1:48 a.m. on a complaint from the owner that a DJ he hired had threatened him.

According to the owner, he hired Sheila Lawrence, 46, for the night but had specifically instructed her not to play rap music from her playlist. The last song she played was a rap song, so the owner instructed his staff to turn up the lights and close the bar. That sparked an argument in which Lawrence allegedly threatened to shoot the owner. She was given a misdemeanor summons for threatening and released on a promise to appear in court.

Video Report–Fire Destroys Home in Bridgeport

Just after 3am Monday morning firefighters were called to 175 Hanford Avenue for a structure fire. Firefighters arriving on scene reported heavy fire from the back of the structure and concerns to the building to the left of the house catching fire due to the heat and fire. Additional alarms were called in including a evacuation tone which caused firefighters to evacuated the building and take a defensive approach to the fire. It was about an hour before fighters were able to shift from a defensive mode to an offensive mode and take control to the fire. I spoke many EMS heroes and they said no one was injured in the fire.
