Chinese Nationalist Buzzes Bridgeport Power Plant

5:20pm–#Bridgeport CT  #FBI–Police received a call from security at the Bridgeport power plant that the plant was being recorded by a remote control airplane that had a camera onboard.  The airplane was being flown by a Chinese Nationalist who is in the country on an extended student visa.  The student has already graduated from a nearby university and was permitted to stay in the country.  Sources tell me the remote plane was “pretty sophisticated” but crashed into the water behind the power plant.  Police had contacted the Homeland Security who contacted the FBI who are on the way to investigate.

Homicide in Bridgeport

4:13am–#Bridgeport, CT — May 12, 2013 — Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting this morning on Berkshire Avenue at Noble Avenue.

Police responded to the area at 4:13 a.m. today on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers observed a silver Ford Fusion parked on Berkshire, just west of Noble. The vehicle had multiple bullet holes in its left, front window and door area. Inside the vehicle police found a male who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by AMR personnel.

Detectives have a tentative identification on the victim. It is not yet being released pending verification and notification of his family.

At this time, no motive has been established and detectives remain on scene.

Trash fire at school

1:25pm–#Bridgeport CT–Curiale School at 300 Laurel Ave was evacuated due to a trash can in the boys room set on fire.  Firefighters are on the scene ventilating  and police are investigating. The school was evacuated.   Earlier today Bassick High School was dismissed early due to a bomb threat.
