Bridgeport News: Narcotics Bust

State Police Press Release:   On 05/28/15 at approximately 11:15 a.m., Statewide Narcotics Task Force (SNTF) detectives from the Southwest Office executed an arrest warrant and search and seizure warrant in Bridgeport. The warrants were obtained after SNTF detectives and local police officers, from various police departments, conducted a lengthy narcotics investigation. Detectives apprehended the accused, Frederick Kollock, after conducting a motor vehicle stop on Barnum Ave. in Bridgeport, with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Department. Detectives located 20 bags of Heroin in the vehicle, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. Detectives then executed the search and seizure warrant at Kollock’s residence. Detectives seized 260 bags of Heroin, 3 full magazines of .45 caliber ammunition, and assorted drug paraphernalia. The heroin, magazines, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia was seized…

Bridgeport Receives Grants To Rid City Of Eye Sore

Bridgeport, Conn. (May 28, 2015) – Background: Today, Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch joined officials from the Environmental Protection Agency in announcing a $200,000 grant from the federal agency to clean up the run down property at 141 Stratford Avenue. The site formerly housed the company AGI Rubber, but has been run-down for decades. “This is great news. With these funds, we’ll soon begin knocking down a run-down property that has plagued a central location in our city for decades. Doing so will make the property more attractive to job creators and investors, allowing us to continue developing the waterfront. Thanks to the Environmental Protection Agency and our federal delegation for working with us to make Bridgeport better every day.”
