There has been a recent upsurge in rumors regarding various clowns/clown groups. The rumors have been generated by various social media posts; some indicating that such clowns/clown groups are potentially violent. To date, there have been no threats made against any Fairfield school. Further, recent clown threats made in other communities have proven to be not credible.

The Fairfield Police Department regularly monitors a variety of resources for any threats to our community. We are aware of the trending clown rumors and continue to monitor and evaluate social media posts by supposed clowns/clown groups.
With Halloween approaching, this issue may intensify. It is important that we come together to avoid perpetuating the paranoia that these rumors are intended to cause. Please know that any and all threats made against our school community are fully investigated. Any attempts to disrupt the safety and peaceful environment of our schools are dealt with swiftly and appropriately. We have not identified this trend of social media posts as high risk. As always, we urge you to remain vigilant in observing and reporting anyone suspicious or anything not normal in your environment.
