  1. Yesterday, July 23rd a Mr. Stephen Krauchick posted on this site that there was a robbery at the Trumbull Library on Huntington Turnpike. A robbery did occur at the Fairchild-Nichols Branch on Huntington Turnpike. I am posting here because I was just notified by one of my staff members of the post on this site which contains a serious inaccuracy which needs to be addressed.

A wallet was stolen and police were notified and came to the building. IT WAS NOT AN ARMED ROBBERY as Mr. Krauchick posted. The Library Administration is putting procedures in place that will ensure the safety of both library users and staff members in the future. Anyone wishing accurate information may contact me directly.

    1. I can only report on what is officially posted on the police radios. Our followers like to be informed on what is going on in real time. I have the audio to prove what was said. Our report said “(Robbery at Trumbull Library) – 4:47pm–‪#‎Trumbull‬ CT–A strong armed robbery just occurred at the library on Huntington Turnpike.” You should check with your dictionary in your library. A “strong armed robbery” means a robbery taken by force, no weapon involved.
