Christmas Eve UPDATE: I was just informed that Mayor Ganim and Chief Perez just visited the family to inform them of an arrest made in this homicide.

UPDATE: Police say shots were fired in front of 289 Willow Street. A 12-year-old Clinton Howell, a seventh-grader at Bridge Academy was struck at least twice by gunfire while in front of this location. The victim was transported by EMS to Bridgeport Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later. It does not appear at this point that the victim was the intended target. Detectives are working several leads, and have made swift progress in the investigation. 9:03pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police are investigating the city’s 11th homicide on Willow Street.  Police Chief AJ Perez is confirming the man shot in a drive-by shooting in front of a residence in the 200 block of Willow Street died at the hospital.  Police confirm the victim was 12 years old.
