Westport News: 2 Nabbed On Forgery/Identity Theft
#Westport CT--On 06/06/18, investigators were contacted by an employee of Toyota of Westport. The vendor who launders employee uniforms turned in a wallet located in the pocket of a pair of pants that had been cleaned. The wallet belonged to ex-employee, Deshawn Sawyer, but was found to contain two checks belonging to a Toyota customer. The investigator learned Sawyer had stolen the checks while he was working as a valet at Toyota. He would then provide them to a friend, Daishaun Murphy, who would deposit them into his account.
