DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Trumbull News: Hostage Situation

Trumbull Police UPDATE – 7:00 p.m.: Trumbull Police have resolved the incident at the “Royce of Trumbull” apartment complex, located on Old Town Road in Trumbull. Shortly before 1:00 p.m. today, Trumbull Police were notified by another law enforcement agency that a woman was being held hostage inside one of the Royce apartments by a man who was armed with a weapon. Police checked the information provided and learned that the male was also a fugitive.   Trumbull Police, assisted by the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team, closed the apartment complex and established a perimeter around the building in the Royce complex. Westport Police Issue Press Release on Town Signage

#Westport CT--With election season upon us, the Westport Police Department would like to remind its citizens of the regulations pertaining to temporary signs in Town. Unfortunately, we have experienced vandalism and theft regarding temporary signs in the past. This type of behavior will not be tolerated. These crimes may lead to criminal charges such as Trespassing, Criminal Mischief and/or Larceny. The following policy has been established by Westport Town Officials in order to provide coordination for the placement of temporary signs by Westport non-profit organizations wishing to advertise one-time- only charitable events. Here is the police report and surveillance photos from the BP robbery we were first to tell you about: #Bridgerport CT--Last night at approximately 23.36 Hours, the BP Gas station located at 3725 Madison was robbed by three armed Black males. One of the Black males pistol whipped the clerk in the head during the robbery and all three suspects fled to the rear of Goodfellas Pizza. The males were described as wearing black hoodies, white gloves with black bandanas around their faces and black pants. All three suspects were armed with handguns. This is the first commercial robbery with the above description which usually means there will be more by these individuals.
