#Bridgeport, Conn. – August 11, 2016) – Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced the signing of pitcher Holden Helmink. Holden attended the Bluefish Open Player Tryout at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Monday, August 8. “Holden threw really well at the open tryout we held earlier this week,” says Bluefish Manager Luis Rodriguez. “We think he will be a really positive addition to our bullpen and we’re excited to have him join us.” Holden Helmink comes to Bridgeport for his third season of professional baseball and first in the Atlantic League. Last year, the pitcher made twelve appearances with the rookie level AZL Diamondbacks, where he struck out 13 batters in 11.2 innings.
