DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield News: Friends Beach Read Book Sale At The Library

#Fairfield, CT, May 26, 2016-- The Friends of the Fairfield Public Library will be having their Beach Read Book Sale Tuesday, June 7 through Tuesday, June 14. The sale will be held at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road, during regular library hours.  A wide selection of books, CDs and DVDs for adults and children will be specially priced, and the selection will be regularly updated throughout the sale. Only cash payments will be accepted for purchases made at this sale. The Friends of the Fairfield Public Library raise money to support Library programs such as One Book One Town, Soundwaves concerts, the Kershner Gallery, Author Luncheons, Mini Golf, and Children’s programs. (Westport, CT) On Friday May 27, 2016 at approximately 7:20 in the evening the Westport Police Department received a report from Castle Wine & Spirits that four individuals were purchasing merchandise with what were believed to be fraudulent credit cards. When confronted by store personnel, these individuals fled in a red Mazda bearing Maryland license plates. The car was last seen heading westbound on Post Road East. This information was broadcast to responding officers. Shortly after the broadcast, the vehicle was spotted traveling westbound on Post Road East in the area of the Sherwood Island Connector. The car was pulled over by patrol units after making a left turn onto the Sherwood Island Connector. All four suspects were in the vehicle and were positively identified as the ones…
