I-95 Exit 33 Closed
I-95 exit 33, both north and southbound, is closed due to a crash involving a motorcycle. According to unconfirmed reports, the motorcyclist had agonal breathing. Dispatch wanted to give CPR instructions but the civilians that were on scene did not feel comfortable giving CPR. 4 Alarm Fire In Bridgeport
Bridgeport firefighters responded to a large fire in the 1600 block of East Main Street that started in the back of a building and spread to the adjacent building. Crews worked quickly to bring the fire under control and stayed on scene to make sure everything was fully out. No injuries were reported, and everyone inside—including pets—was able to get out safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and additional crews were called in to give firefighters a break during the long response. According to police, officers responded on July 9, 2022, to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire at the Calvin United Church of Christ on Kings Highway East, where a large gathering of several hundred people was underway.
