Hwang Calls For Fairfield Speed Camera Pause

Tony Hwang, ranking Republican leader on the Transportation Committee, is calling on Fairfield officials to pause the town’s speed camera program after warning-period data projected nearly 190,000 violations in May. Hwang said the number is “alarming and shocking,” but not surprising, arguing that speeding has become normalized across Fairfield and other Connecticut communities. He said he continues to support speed and red-light cameras as a public safety tool, but believes Fairfield should use the May warning period to improve education, signage, public awareness and transparency before full enforcement continues. A viewer texted us to let us know they heard well over a dozen shots fired in the area of 1500 North Ave in Bridgeport. On scene there were state, Fairfield, and Bridgeport police. It does not appear anyone was shot at this time, but this is a developing story.

A one car rollover has shut down State Street near Yale Street in Bridgeport. The person in the car fled the scene. Police have found the alleged person that fled on Warden street, but no info is confirmed at this time.
Teen Shot 3 Times At Trumbull Gardens
An 18-year-old was shot in the leg, hip, and abdomen in the 400 block of Trumbull Gardens. He was transported to an area hospital. Police said no arrests have been made, and updates will be provided once available.
