His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: Car Crashes Down A Stairwell

 The Westport Parks and Recreation Department, the Downtown Merchants Association and Westport P.A.L. have announced that the date for the Annual Children’s Halloween Parade is Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Bridgeport Detectives Arrest Suspect in Monday Homicide

#Bridgeport, CT -- Oct. 14, 2014– Detectives this morning arrested an 18-year-old city man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Monday afternoon. Nasir Hargett, of Bridgeport, was charged with murder in connection with the death of Davon Robertson, 24, who was shot Monday afternoon in the area of Pearl and Brooks streets. “Detectives worked the case non-stop and made an arrest within 24 hours. First Selectman Tetreau wishes to remind members of the Fairfield community—residents, businesses, and organizations— to sign up for CodeRED to receive emergency-related or other important notifications from the Town. Police Chief Gary MacNamara said, “CodeRed has given us the ability to reach the entire town, a portion of town, or a singular neighborhood with important information in a fast and efficient way, however we cannot inform you if we can’t reach you, and we can't reach you if you don't sign up.” The Town of Fairfield has contracted with Emergency Communications Network to license this high-speed phone notification system to provide Fairfield officials with the ability to quickly deliver phone messages to targeted areas or to the entire Town. Westport News: Wedding Crasher

Westport CT— On Saturday October 11,2014 at 7:10 PM Westport Police responded to The Longshore Inn on a report that a male had taken a bird cage containing an undetermined amount of wedding cards from a newlywed couples wedding reception.   The male who posed as a guest of the reception or hotel was observed loitering in the lobby area of the inn, talking on the phone, eventually grabbing the birdcage containing the cards and fleeing on foot from the Inn. Police set up a perimeter on the Longshore property and conducted a thorough search of the grounds, with the assistance of a Norwalk Police K-9. Bridgeport Police Investigate 2 Shootings, 1 A Homicide

#Bridgeport CT--Just before noon police received a call for a person down at Pearl and Brooks Street where a "personal fight" occurred and resulted in a man being shot and killed according to Bridgeport Police Joseph L. Gaudett, Jr. An anonymous source say the man shot was robbing local drug dealers but this has not been confirmed. Police have a 17 year old male in custody as a possible suspect.   This is the city's 9th homicide of the year. Less than ten minutes later a second call came in for shots fired at Washington Park.
