DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Hartford Firefighter Dies Fighting Fire

#Hartford CT-- Hartford firefighters have lost one of their own fighting a fire on Blue Hills Avenue.  Three have been injured, one is being treated at Bridgeport Hospital.  I request prayers for all involved.  No names have been released at this time.   Bomberos Hartford han perdido a uno de su propia lucha contra un incendio en Blue Hills Avenue. The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield proudly announces the return of Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street. It will take place Friday, October 31, 2014. This event offers a safe and comfortable environment for the children of Fairfield to dress up and trick- or- treat for Halloween. It is open to all Fairfield children up through elementary school who come dressed in their favorite costume. Merchants will offer treats from 2pm to 5pm and will display an orange Trick-of-Treat on Safety Street poster in their windows to show their participation. Bridgeport News: False 911 Calls For Schools

11:23am--#Bridgeport CT--Police were called to Roosevelt School at 160 Iranistan/University Avneu for a 911 call about a disturbance at one of the classrooms.   Upon police's arrival they found there was no disturbance.  The call was for 600 University Avenue but that is where the ping to the phone came from, but it isn't 100% accurate.  Police checked Roosevelt School and University of Bridgeport and found nothing.  At the same time police also received a 911 call for a street fight at Geraldine Johnson School at 475 Lexington Avenue.   This call also proved to be false.
